Bootleg Racing League | Season 33 | Round 1
Outlaw Modified Series | New Smyrna Speedway

The Bootleg Racing League’s Outlaw Modified Invitational Series roared back to life with an electrifying season opener at New Smyrna Speedway. In a thrilling showcase of speed and skill, James Tiernan, driving for Elbows Up Simport, emerged as the triumphant victor.

The stage was set for Tiernan’s triumph right from the beginning, as he secured the coveted pole position. With the anticipation building, he led a formidable field of 21 cars to the green flag, setting the tone for an action-packed evening.

However, the race wasn’t without its fair share of challenges. Frequent caution periods punctuated the event, preventing Tiernan from establishing an insurmountable lead. This allowed several skilled competitors to mount challenges and vie for the top spot.

One such contender was Aiden Young, whose performance was nothing short of remarkable. Operating quietly but strategically, Young worked his way up through the field, ultimately ascending to the second position on Lap 46. This progression wasn’t without drama, as contact occurred between Young and Bryan Dehn, causing both drivers to briefly spin out. Fortunately for Young, he was granted his rightful position behind Tiernan as they faced the green flag for the second half of the race.

With Young relentlessly pressuring Tiernan for the lead and frequent caution periods keeping the field closely bunched, the stage was set for a captivating battle. Despite Young’s valiant efforts, Tiernan displayed a commanding level of skill and consistency, maintaining his lead with unwavering determination.

As the laps dwindled, it became increasingly evident that Tiernan’s lead was secure. He continued to outpace the competition, ultimately proving to be untouchable throughout the night. The race unfolded in a manner consistent with Tiernan’s domination in the previous season, reinforcing his status as a formidable force in the Bootleg Racing League.

The excitement and competition show no signs of slowing down as the season progresses. Racing enthusiasts won’t want to miss the next round, scheduled for October 6th at Hickory Motor Speedway. The action is set to go live at 8:55 PM ET, exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network, promising another thrilling chapter in this invigorating series.
