BRL OUTLAWS S38 R6 Recap
08 February 2025
Bootleg Racing League | Season 38 | Round 6
Outlaw Modified Series | Myrtle Beach Speedway
On Saturday, February 8th, the Bootleg Racing League’s Outlaw SK Modified Invitational Series stormed into Myrtle Beach Speedway for Round 6 of Season 38. Championship leader Aiden Young of Gambler Motorsports entered the night with a 5-point edge over Thunder Ridge Racing’s Donny Moore, while defending series champion Todd Liston started on pole alongside Adam Schoen.
A late jump from Liston on the green flag stacked up the inside line, creating chaos in the early laps and severely hampering Moore’s race. Schoen attempted to take the lead from the outside but couldn’t complete the pass before Liston regained momentum and cleared out front. The opening laps saw several drivers slide down pit road, but the race remained under green as Liston controlled the early pace.
As the race settled in, Young methodically worked his way through the field, eventually securing second place and setting his sights on Liston. Despite closing the gap, Young struggled to find a way around the defending champion. Lap after lap, Liston held his ground—until a slight mistake on lap 79 gave Young the opening he needed. Wasting no time, Young darted to the inside and took over the race lead.
Meanwhile, James Lowe was carving his way forward, passing Liston for second on lap 88 and setting his sights on Young. Lowe reeled in the leader with impressive pace but simply ran out of laps before he could mount a serious challenge. Young held strong to take the checkered flag, stretching his championship lead to 10 points over Moore. Lowe’s runner-up finish propelled him into third in the standings, now just 15 points behind Young as the season hits its second half.
The series heads to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway next Saturday, February 15th. Catch all the action live at 7:40 PM ET, only on the Virtual Grip Network!
