Red Light Racing’s Skitter Creek SK Modifieds drivers roared into historic South Boston Speedway on March 6, 2025. It was a return to winning ways for Eric Stout. Stout and his teammate, AJ Hamel, appeared to be the class of the field before disappointment struck Hamel. Hamel had a late race spin while battling for the lead with Stout, Hamel finishing in 18th as a result. Bradley Stefane came home second, and Scott Negus completed the podium with his third place finish. Brian Bianchi and Kenny Allen rounded out the top 5.

Stout claimed the pole position in qualifying, turning a 14.432 second lap. Rex Hoyle, Hamel, Brian Bianchi, and Scott Negus qualified 2nd – 5th, respectively, all turning laps less than a tenth of a second off of Stout’s pace.

The race had 4 cautions, the most significant being the tangle between Stout and Hamel while battling for the lead on lap 98. Hamel, on the inside line, made light contact with Stout on the outside, which sent Stout spinning toward the inside wall. Hamel had put on an impressive performance prior to the spin. He took the lead from Stout on a restart on lap 36. Hamel led a total of 63 laps, the most of any driver in the race.

Stout led a total of 40 laps and Bradley Stefane led a single lap of the green-white-checkered extended event. Other notable performances included Stefane and Fred LeClair both winning the Hard Charger of the Race Award, each gaining 9 spots from their starting positions. Stefane started in 11th and finished 2nd and LeClair started 18th and finished 9th. Eric Stout turned the fastest lap of the race completing lap 10 in just 14.501 seconds. Nine drivers finished the race without any incident points: Negus, Bianchi, Allen, Stefane, Buckley, LeClair, Oliver, Blake, and Haizlip.

With the win, Stout extends his grip on the championship point standings, he’s now 47 points ahead of Stefane, who moved into 2nd place in the standings. Rex Hoyle, Kenny Allen, and Brian Bianchi round out the top 5 in the standings, all within 10 points of Stefane for second place.

The series turns to Southern National Speedway on March 13th for the tenth race of the season. The green flag drops at 7:55 PM Eastern. Catch all of the action LIVE on the Virtual Grip Network.
