BRL OUTLAWS S39 R4 Recap
12 April 2025
Bootleg Racing League | Season 39 | Round 4
Outlaw Modified Series | Oxford Plains Speedway
On Saturday, April 12th, the Bootleg Racing League’s Outlaw SK Modified Invitational Series rolled into Oxford Plains Speedway for round 4 of season 39 — and with just a 4-point gap between James Lowe and John Wilson atop the standings, every position mattered.
Bruce Pearson led the field to green with Tre Blohm alongside him, but it didn’t take long for the drama to start. Contact between Tom Hilbert and Blohm knocked the #32 machine back several spots early, though Blohm quickly regrouped and began clawing his way forward again.
Jeffery Hardin surged into 2nd by making a move under Hilbert, which opened the door for Blohm to rejoin the podium fight as they neared halfway. Up front, Pearson was hitting his marks and holding the lead with precision, while Hardin and Blohm ran nose-to-tail behind him. Meanwhile, points leader James Lowe was still mired outside the top five, struggling to make up ground.
Patience began to wear thin as the field ran single file, and a rare mistake from Todd Liston gave Lowe a break — bumping him up to 5th, right behind Wilson. As the laps ticked down, it looked like the leaders might go the distance cleanly — until a late-race three-wide battle deeper in the pack brought out a caution with just 11 laps remaining.
That yellow changed everything.
Hardin, restarting on the outside — where grip had been hard to find all night — was quickly freight-trained. Blohm jumped to his inside, and Lowe followed suit, slipping into 3rd. The battle behind took all the pressure off Pearson, who held strong up front and drove away to claim his first win of the season.
With a 3rd-place finish, Lowe stays on top of the standings, now six points ahead of Wilson as the BRL heads into an Easter break. The series returns Saturday, April 26th at Stafford Motor Speedway — catch it live at 7:40PM ET only on the Virtual Grip Network!
