BRL Late Model Invitational S29R05 | Stafford Motor Speedway

Get ready for a wild ride as Chris Davis and Ed Sprenger kick off the green flag for Season 29 Round 05 at the iconic Stafford Motor Speedway! From the start, Davis takes the lead, while Sprenger expertly holds onto a solid 2nd place. Meanwhile, an epic showdown brews between Chris Haizlip and Bruce Pearson for the 3rd spot—it’s Haizlip who emerges victorious! Todd Liston swiftly moves past Pearson to claim 4th place. On Lap 5, Liston strikes again, challenging Haizlip and snatching 3rd, closely tailed by Tre Blohm, who is hungry for a podium finish! But by Lap 10, Blohm makes his move, overtaking Liston for 3rd.

As the tension rises, Sprenger presses Davis hard for the lead on Lap 11, inching right up to his back bumper. The action escalates on Lap 13 when Blohm dives inside Sprenger, wrestling for 2nd and successfully completing the pass! With every lap, the excitement builds and by Lap 17, Liston powers past Sprenger to grab 3rd.

The battle for the lead ignites as Blohm challenges Davis on Lap 18 and takes it! But in a dramatic twist, on Lap 43, Davis manages to sneak inside Blohm; Blohm’s daring over-under move fails as Liston stays firmly in 3rd. And just when the race couldn’t heat up more, the first caution of the night strikes on Lap 55 after a thrilling first half filled with electrifying side-by-side racing!

When racing resumes on Lap 60, the dynamic duo of Davis and Blohm duke it out upfront again, with Davis blasting off the restart while Liston slips inside Blohm to steal 2nd! Joseph Snyder, not to be outdone, also passes Blohm to take 3rd. But hold on—caution again on Lap 62!

As the track clears on Lap 66, it’s another showdown with Davis and Liston in the lead. Davis takes the upper hand early, but Liston isn’t backing down! He tries his luck at the inside on Lap 73, but Davis holds him off. Action continues as Blohm fights fiercely with Snyder on Lap 74, even going side by side, but he ultimately gains 3rd! On Lap 76, Liston is back at it, nudging for the lead beside Davis. There’s a slight bump, and just like that—Liston takes the lead on Lap 77, only to see yellow flags waving again on Lap 78.

The tension in the air is palpable as racing restarts on Lap 83—Liston and Davis are neck and neck again! But Ruben Altice doesn’t want to miss the action, launching an impressive move to go three-wide into Turn 2 with Blohm and Davis! Wow! And in perfect timing, Altice pushes through to seize 2nd, displacing a few drivers, including Davis who fights back but stays in 3rd.

With Liston feeling the heat, Altice closes a 1.5-second gap, charges in for the inside pass on Lap 97, and the two battle side by side! But Altice dives into Turn 1, clearing Liston for the lead on Lap 98. The crowd goes wild as Altice pulls ahead, leading the final laps to claim victory at Stafford Motor Speedway, marking his exhilarating 3rd win of the season! Todd Liston finishes strong in 2nd, with Chris Davis securing a well-earned 3rd.

What an electrifying race filled with adrenaline-pumping action all around! If you were on the edge of your seat, don’t miss the next thrilling round! Join us next Saturday, February 8th at 9:10pm ET for Round 06 racing at Myrtle Beach Speedway!

Skitter Creek SK Modified Series
Season 13 Race 4
Concord Speedway

January 30, 2025
by Tim Corder

Red Light Racing League’s Skitter Creek SK Modified Series headed to Concord Speedway on January 30, 2025, for the fourth race of Season 13 of the series. In a theme consistent with the earlier three events of the season, the leader of the most laps during the race would not take home the checkered flag. Eric Stout led 98 laps of the event which was extended to 104 laps because of a green-white-checkered finish. In the end, Brian Bianchi won the race after starting 4th. Fred Leclair gained 13 spots from his 15th place qualifying position to finish 2nd. TJ Henson climbed from 14th on the RACEDAYCT.com starting grid to round out the podium in third. Joshua Buckley and Luke Logan Allen rounded out the top 5.

Eric Stout won the pole turning a lap of 15.187 seconds around the ½ mile triangular speedway. The first 27 laps ran caution free with Stout at the point, and Kenny Allen and AJ Hamel in second and third, respectively. The first caution came out on lap 28 after Brandon Feeney spun attempting to make an inside move on Chris Haizlip in turn one.

By the end of the race, the caution flag would wave another 5 times. The largest number of drivers involved in a caution during the event occurred on lap 84. Kenny Allen tried to move to the inside line but contacted the front of Luke Logan Allen’s car, with Kenny spinning as a result. Several drivers were gathered in the accident including Bradley Stefane, Bruce Pearson, Jeff Aho, and Rob Higgins.

For Eric Stout the most significant caution would occur on lap 98 when Brian Neff contacted the left rear of Feeney on the front stretch, spinning them both. The resultant green flag came out on lap 103 with Stout at the point, AJ Hamel in second and Fred Leclair in third. Leclair was passing Hamel in turn two and three when he contacted the left rear of Stout’s machine. Stout spun as a result collecting Hamel and others. Bianchi, who restarted in 5th, escaped the melee with the lead and lead the last lap of the race for the win. Surprisingly, no caution came out because of the wreck at the front of the field.

Joining Bianchi and Stout as leaders of the event were Neff and Hamel. In addition to sitting on the pole and leading the most laps, Stout also turned the fastest lap of the race, completing lap 5 in just 15.2 seconds. The numerous cautions in the last three-fourths of the race would ensure that most drivers left the event with incident points. Only Ritch Blake and Doyle Lowrance had no incident points. The two finished in 16th and 21st, respectively.

The series goes to historic Stafford Speedway on February 6th. Catch all of the action LIVE on VGN, green flag is scheduled to drop at 7:55 PM Eastern.

BRL Late Model Invitational S29R04 | Langley Speedway

Ed Sprenger and Scott Negus launched into the thrilling Season 29 Round 04 racing at Langley Speedway, igniting the crowd as they brought the field to green! Sprenger blasted off the line, taking command as he stormed through corner 1. However, Negus stumbled with a slow start, forcing him wide as Todd Liston seized the opportunity to dive inside for a solid 2nd place. The drama escalated early with a caution on Lap 2, which had fans on the edge of their seats!

When racing resumed on Lap 7, the excitement intensified with Sprenger and Liston leading the charge. Sprenger accelerated out front once more, but Negus had other plans—he made a daring move on Lap 9, setting his sights on Sprenger, and roared past to claim the lead on Lap 10! The action didn’t stop there; on Lap 27, Lowe slipped past Liston for 2nd place, displaying masterful skill.

As the stakes grew higher, a second caution waved on Lap 48, but the real fireworks started when the green flag returned on Lap 53 with Negus and Lowe in commanding positions. Negus executed a flawless restart, leaving Lowe to tuck in closely behind. Liston fought valiantly for 3rd, but Edward Foster and later Ruben Altice sneaked by, showcasing their racing prowess!

The tension mounted as Altice surged ahead, snatching 3rd just as the caution hit on Lap 60. Rejoining at Lap 65, Negus and Lowe held their ground, but Altice was eager to apply pressure. The next caution on Lap 71 only heightened anticipation for fans! Back to green on Lap 76, Negus and Lowe clashed fiercely at the front, as a struggling Lowe gave Altice a crack at 2nd, leading to yet another caution.

On Lap 81, it was a fierce contest with Negus and Lowe still battling it out. Negus blasted ahead, creating a gap for Lowe, while Altice relentlessly pressured Lowe for position. As the race unfolded towards the final laps, it was a heart-stopping moment when Myers shot past Lowe for 3rd on Lap 89, with Altice hot on Negus’s heels, narrowing the gap to just 0.5 seconds!

In an exhilarating finale, Scott Negus clinched victory in Season 29 Round 04 at Langley Speedway, crossing the finish line first, while the astoundingly quick Ruben Altice finished in 2nd, and the ever-determined Brennan Myers secured 3rd!

Season 13 Race 3
Thompson Speedway
January 23, 2025

by Tim Corder

Race 3 of Season 13 of Red Light Racing’s Skitter Creek SK Modifieds series was held at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on January 23rd.  Chad Alcares brought the field to the green flag and held the lead for 16 laps.  Jeff Aho took over the point and, for the third week in a row, would lead the most laps of the race.  Ultimately it was Eric Stout that took the checkered flag of the 100-lap event.  Alcares finished second and Andrew Massey improved an impressive 17 spots from his 20th place starting position to take 3rd place.  Rounding out the top 5 were AJ Hamel in 4th and Rex Hoyle in 5th.

The event saw the caution flag wave 9 times for a total of 36 laps.  Many of the cautions started with self-spins, a sign that the drivers were challenged to keep their rear tires from trying to pass their front tires.

One of the larger cautions of the night happened after a restart on lap 61.  Hoyle and Hamel made contact on the backstretch that sent Hoyle bouncing off of the inside wall.  At least 8 drivers were caught up in the mayhem, including Donnie Moore who did a barrel roll as a result of the wreckage around him.

The green would come out following the caution on lap 66, with Stout restarting 2nd on the inside beneath leader Aho.  Bucking the trend of the night, Stout was able to take over the point from the inside line.  Stout was able to hold off all challengers for the rest of the event.  Aho would finish in 6th, his highest finish of the season despite the early dominance he’s shown in all three events so far.

Following suit for the first two race of the season, no drivers escaped the event without incident points.

AJ Hamel joined Stout, Alcares, and Aho as the leaders of the event.  Three drivers picked up double digit places from the starting positions to finish in the top 10, Chris Haizlip improved from 23rd to finish 7th, Bruce Pearson finished 9th from 24th and the aforementioned Andrew Massey was the hardest charger of the event picking up 17 spots to finish third.  Twelve cars finished the event on the lead lap.  For the third race in a row no drivers escaped the event without incident points.

Stout’s win catapulted him up 10 spots in the championship standings and had him tied with Bradley Stefane in the early standings.  Brandon Feeney left the race in 3rd and Andrew Massey moved up to 4th.  Jeff Aho and Brian Neff are tied for 5th in the championship.

The series take to triangular Concord Speedway on January 30thVirtual Grip Racing is broadcasting live all events this season, so, be sure to tune in for another exciting race, green flag is scheduled to drop at 7:55 PM Eastern.

Skitter Creek SK Modifieds
Season 13 Race 2
Langley Speedway

January 16, 2025
by Tim Corder

Red Light Racing’s Skitter Creek SK Modifieds took to Langley speedway for its second race of Season 13. Twenty-six drivers took to the Langley’s essentially flat track under the lights Thursday night. In many ways the race seemed to be a sequel to last week’s event at New Smyrna as the two events shared similar themes, including Jeff Aho (#21) leading most of the early laps but ultimately not having a finish reflecting that performance. In the end, Brandon Feeney climbed 16 spots from his 17th place starting position to claim the win. Rounding out the top 5 were last week’s winner Bradley Stefane (#89), Eric Stout (#12), Brian Neff (#60), and TJ Henson (#62).

Repeating his starting position from last week, Aho was the class of the RaceDayCT.com starting grid, winning the pole with a 14.858 second trip around the 4/10 of a mile track. The remaining drivers making completing the top 5 starting positions were Brina Bianchi (#14), Fred LeClair (#71), Kenny Allen (#81), and Brian Neff (#60). As testament to how tumultuous the race would turn out, only Neff and LeClair would finish the race in the top 10.

Aho set the pace for a field leading 64 laps before spinning on a lap 68 following a restart. Aho and Neff were battling for the lead in turn when Aho seemed to slow to avoid contact with Neff. Leclair was close behind the slowing Aho, unable to slow in time, Leclair tapped Aho’s rear bumper sending Aho spinning as he did last week in front of the field. Aho would finish the night in 22nd.

As with last week, the race finished in extra innings, except with two green-white-checker attempts this week. The first GWC attempt had Brian Neff bring the field to the green with Brian Feeney restarting on Neff’s outside in second. Feeney jumped to the lead on the restart. Before the white flag could wave a pile-up happened behind the leaders when Kenny Allen contacted the back bumper of Donny Moore (#26), Moore then tapping the bumper of Andrew Massey #83, sending all three spinning and collecting several cars behind the initial melee.

As mentioned, Aho led the most laps of the race. As a result of the caution flag waving a total of 12 times, the pace car led the second most laps with 48 laps at the point under the yellow flag. Another repeat from last week was that none of the drivers escaped the battle with no incident points.

The hard charger of the race was Eric Stout, he gained 21 spots to finish 3rd from his 24th starting position. The fastest lap of the race was once again turned by Jeff Aho on his 44th lap around the circuit. Joining Aho, Neff, and Feeney was Fred LeClair who led one lap.

With the win, Brandon Feeney jumped 13 spots in the early championship standing to tie Stefane at the top of the standings. Eric Stout was also a big mover in the championship race, up 11 spots to tie for third with Allen and Higgins. 505 Motorsports leads the team standing by 16 points over BFee Motorsports.

The series turns to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on January 23rd. Virtual Grip Racing is broadcasting live all events this season, so, be sure to tune in for another action-packed race, green flag is scheduled to drop at 7:55 PM Eastern.

BRL Late Model Invitational S29R02 | Lanier National Speedway

Joseph Snyder and Bruce Pearson took the green flag for Season 29, Round 02 action at Lanier National Speedway. Snyder gained the advantage going into Turn 1, while Ruben Altice managed to sneak past Bruce Pearson to secure 2nd place. However, a caution on Lap 3 brought the field to a halt early in the race. When racing resumed on Lap 9, Snyder and Altice were at the front of the field again. Snyder pulled ahead, while Altice battled Pearson for the 2nd position. Altice successfully utilized the high line to maintain 2nd, forcing Pearson to settle for 3rd.

Another caution occurred on Lap 16. Racing resumed on Lap 21 with Snyder and Altice still in the lead. This time, they both had a nearly equal start, but a wreck on the restart caused another caution before leaving Turn 2. The race restarted once more on Lap 26, with Snyder and Altice again battling side by side in Turn 1. Snyder eventually cleared Altice, who then settled back into 2nd place, while Lowell Jewell climbed into 3rd.

On Lap 34, Altice looked inside Snyder and managed to pass him for the lead. Altice began to build a lead over Snyder. Another caution occurred on Lap 41. When racing resumed on Lap 45, Altice shot ahead, easily clearing the field as the top three quickly settled into single-file order. Spotlighted driver Scott Negus, who was already gaining positions, started applying pressure on Lowell Jewell for 3rd. They engaged in a side-by-side battle for several laps, but Negus eventually faded back as John Wilson looked to challenge for 4th. Negus made another attempt, this time getting inside Jewell and successfully passing him for 3rd place.

On Lap 89, Negus overtook Snyder for 2nd, but a caution came out just a lap later on Lap 90. Racing resumed on Lap 95 with Altice and Negus at the front. Altice cleared Negus for the lead, while Snyder attempted to make a move inside Negus but was unable to do so, as Negus maintained momentum on the outside line. Snyder settled into 3rd, facing pressure from Mark Hertzog.

Ruben Altice claimed victory in Round 2, marking his 2nd late model win. Scott Negus finished in 2nd place, successfully hitting the under as the spotlighted driver, while Mark Hertzog took 3rd.

Red Light Racing at New Smyrna

Red Light Racing
Skitter Creek SK Modifieds
Season 13 Race 1
New Smyrna

By Tim Corder – January 9, 2025

Red Light Racing’s Skitter Creek SK Modifieds kicked off the first race of Season 13 with an action-packed 150 laps at New Smyrna Speedway. The race was a cornucopia of excitement including classic short track racing, a “Big One” that would make Talladega jealous, pit-strategy, and a green-white-checkered finish.

After a pole-winning 17.383 second qualifying lap Jeff Aho (#21) brought the RaceDayCT.com starting grid to the green-flag under the New Smyrna Speedway lights. Aho would continue to set the pace for much of the first two-thirds of the race, leading 72 of the first 100 laps. Aho’s night took a turn after he pitted during a caution on lap 98. Aho would rejoin the field in 12th, the last car on the lead lap, and he would gain 3 spots to finish the event in 9th.

Ultimately it was Bradley Stefane (#89) that would claim the first trophy of Season 13. After starting in 5th, Stefane would lead an impressive 53 laps of the event. Stefane also recorded the fastest lap of the race, completing lap 105 in just 17.354 seconds. Stefane passed Luke Allen (#6) on lap 101 following a restart and would keep the point for the remainder of the event.

The most memorable part of the night for many spectators, and drivers, likely was the massive lap 34 pile-up that appeared to involve every car in the field to some degree. The chaos was triggered when Aho and Eric Stout (#12) made contact in turn 2 while leading the field after a restart on lap 33. After the contact, the two leading cars turned sideways and blocked much of the backstretch leaving the already tightly packed field with essentially nowhere to go other than into each other. Searching for words to describe the melee announcer Soup Zahn summarized the scene in the best way possible, “It’s an octopus trying to put on its socks.” This kerfuffle, and other contact of much less magnitude, ensured that none of the 25 drivers would leave the event without incident points.

While Aho and Stefane led a combined 125 of the green-white-checker extended 151 laps, five other drivers lead at least one lap. The other leaders were Luke Allen and Eric Stout as well as Chris Haizlip (#93), Kenny Allen (#81), and Bruce Pearson (22).

Due in large part to the field-encompassing lap 34 pile-up, only 11 drivers would finish on the lead lap. Allen Wannamaker (#9) was the last car to finish on the lead lap, and the top ten finishers were Stefane, Rob Higgins , Kenny Allen, Bruce Pearson, Adin All-Vecchione, Fred LeClair, Chris Haizlip, Luke Allen, Aho, and Rex Hoyle.

With 4 bonus points for the win, Stefane left the event with 47 points. Higgins and Allen are tied for second in the points, each have 41 points after Season 13’s inaugural event. The series visits Langley Speedway Thursday, January 16th, with a 7:55 Eastern start. All the series races will be broadcasted live on Virtual Grip Network (VGN).

BRL Late Model Invitational S29R01 | North Wilkesboro Speedway

Welcome to 2025 at Bootleg Racing League! This year kicks off with Season 29 Round 01 at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Joe Segalla and Todd Liston lead the field at the start of the first race of the season. Segalla gets a great jump and clears Liston for the lead. Liston has the option to choose lanes and opts for the inside of Segalla off of turn 2 but eventually backs off. Joseph Snyder follows closely in third place.

A battle for the lead causes a major wreck, impacting almost the entire field and momentarily turning the front stretch of North Wilkesboro into a chaotic scene. After the shuffle at the front, Jason Menda and Todd Cousins bring the field to green on Lap 11. Menda cleanly clears for the lead, while Cousins begins battling Bruce Pearson for second, managing to clear him and move to the inside. Pearson, now on the inside, fights with Aiden Young for third but ultimately loses the position to Young.

A caution on Lap 18 leads to a stack-up in Turn 2. Racing resumes on Lap 23 with Menda and Cousins leading the pack. Cousins stays close to Menda on the restart, racing side by side for a lap before Menda clears him for the lead. Young and Scott Negus engage in a battle for third, but another caution comes out on Lap 25.

When racing resumes on Lap 30, it’s Menda and Cousins up front again. This time, Menda gets a better start and maintains first place, with Cousins in second and Young in third by Lap 31. Another caution waves on Lap 34. Racing resumes on Lap 38 with Menda and Cousins at the front, and Menda clears Cousins into turn 1. Young and Negus once again battle for third.

On Lap 55, Young gets inside Cousins and starts to battle for second, successfully clearing him. Negus then moves in to take third from Cousins. By Lap 61, Young attempts to look inside of Menda, but as they get close to contact, Young wisely backs off to stay in second. A caution is called on Lap 75.

Racing resumes on Lap 80 with Menda and Young leading. Menda manages to clear Young and maintain the lead. Young tries to get a run on the outside of turn 2, crossing over to get inside of Menda, but he has to back off, dropping him to third as Negus takes second. On Lap 86, Negus challenges Menda for the lead, and they race side by side, but they end up wrecking when Menda tries to cross under and slightly tags the back of Negus.

This caution reshuffles the front once again, and now Young and Mike Holloway lead the field to green on Lap 92. Young clears first, and Holloway battles with Donny Moore on the outside, managing to hold onto second. Holloway looks to the inside of Young on Lap 97, racing side by side, and ultimately clears for the lead on Lap 98. Mark Hertzog and Donny Moore battle side by side for third, with Hertzog eventually clearing using the outside line.

Mike Holloway crosses the finish line first, claiming victory in the opening race of Season 29. Aiden Young finishes in second place, followed by Mark Hertzog in third.

There was some exciting action in this one and a great way to kick of 2025 and Season 29 of Bootleg Racing League Late Model action. Be sure to come back next Saturday for Season 29 Round 02 action at Lanier National Speedway at 9:10pm ET on VGN!

BRL Late Model Invitational S28R10 | Hickory Motor Speedway

Stephen Spies and Tre Blohm set the field in motion for Season 28, Round 10 at Hickory Motor Speedway. Spies quickly took off while Blohm cleared the field to secure second place. A battle for third developed between Mark Hertzog and Jeffery Hardin, with Hertzog gaining an advantage on the outside. He then began to challenge Blohm for second but eventually settled into single file along with the top five drivers.

The outside line proved effective for drivers looking to make passes, resulting in some exciting mid-pack racing as competitors advanced. Up front, Hertzog managed to pass Blohm on Lap 22 to take second place. A caution flew on Lap 35, leading to a restart with Spies and Hertzog at the front. Spies launched ahead once again, and Hertzog used the outside momentum to keep 2nd.

Hardin began rolling on the outside, aiming to contest Blohm for third, but a caution on Lap 43 paused the action momentarily. Racing resumed on Lap 48 with Spies and Hertzog leading the field. Spies maintained his lead while Hertzog settled into second place, with Hardin close behind in third.

Another caution occurred on Lap 60. Spies and Hertzog once again restarted the race on Lap 66, with Spies continuing his impressive restarts. Hertzog faced pressure from Hardin but managed to hold onto second place after a strong move on the outside down the backstretch. After a few more cautions, with just ten laps to go, Spies remained in front, followed by Hardin in second and Lowell Jewell in third. They finished the race in that order, with Spies leading from start to finish to secure his victory at Hickory.
