Liston, displaying remarkable pace, managed to build a significant gap between himself and the rest of the field, while Shepherd, starting from 11th, skillfully worked alongside his teammate, Austin Boelke, to navigate through the traffic and make his way up the ranks.
Boelke made a decisive move on lap 67, deftly overtaking Liston to snatch the lead, with Shepherd following closely in 2nd place. With the finish line in sight and only 22 laps remaining, Shepherd seized a golden opportunity and made a daring maneuver under Boelke to claim the lead for himself.
