Brandyn Proudfoot with Jim Beaver eSports took the checkered flag for the third time this season with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stocks Series at Lanier National Speedway ahead of Billy Northcutt and William Hargreaves. “I tried to just run the line the best I could and ultimately I just, just made enough time to get that checkered flag”, Proudfoot commented after the race win, “If it was a 50 lapper here it would’ve been a three-way battle for sure.”

William Hargreaves took the pole with a fast lap at 16.272 after arriving on track with just enough time to get one lap in during the qualifying session. Proudfoot started to his outside as the green flag was thrown out starting off the first heat of the night. Hargreaves cleared ahead of Proudfoot off the start with Billy Northcutt battled Jason Best over 3rd. Hargreaves and Proudfoot ran side by side with neither driver showing an advantage over the other going into the final lap. Hargreaves was able to hold on from the outside crossing the line 0.068 over Proudfoot.

Chris Hill and John Wilson led the field to the green for the second and final heat of the night. Hill had a strong launch and cleared in front of Wilson. Wilson stayed with Hill but wasn’t able to challenge for the lead before Hill took the checkered flag. The B Main consolation race was led out by Northcutt with Jeffrey Hardin to his outside. A very good launch from Northcutt gave Jason Best, starting in 3rd, the opportunity to follow him past Hardin and the two drivers started to pull away. Northcutt showed superior speed staying out of reach of Best all the way to the checkered flag and taking the win.

The drivers lined up on track for the feature event behind Hargreaves with Wilson to his inside as the green flag came out. Hargreaves had a good launch pulling out in front of the field. Best and Wilson made contact ending Wilson’s night very early and forcing Best to the rear of the field after spinning around on track. Proudfoot gained the most from the incident moving up into 2nd place and challenging Hargreaves for the lead from the inside line running alongside of each other similar to their heat race earlier.

Hargreaves was able to hold the lead as Proudfoot slid back in line behind the leader. Hargreaves, Proudfoot, and Northcutt pulled away from the rest of the field as the three drivers battled over the lead going into the second half of the race. Hargreaves and Proudfoot traded sliders back and forth for several laps before Proudfoot was able to hold it and started stretching the gap between himself and Hargreaves. Hargreaves and Northcutt had slight contact giving Northcutt an opening to take away 2nd place.

With 10 laps remaining, Northcutt was able to clear into 2nd place as Proudfoot pulled ahead by over 1 second. Northcutt started aggressively closing the gap to Proudfoot in the final laps but wasn’t able to completely close the distance as Proudfoot crossed the line closely followed by Northcutt and Hargreaves, with J R Shepherd and Jason Best rounding out the top 5 finishers of the night.

Brandyn Proudfoot took the points lead away from William Hargreaves tonight with his win now at 627 points, only 1 point ahead of Hargreaves in 2nd place. Billy Northcutt holds onto 3rd with 598 points and Bobby Hayes and Jason Best round out the top 5 drivers of the season with three rounds remaining. The Bootleg Racing League drivers now set their sights to The Dirt Track at Charlotte for the next round on May 20th with all of the dirt slinging action broadcast for you live at 7:10PM ET only on the Virtual Grip Network!
