BRL OUTLAWS S38 R5 Recap
01 February 2025
Bootleg Racing League | Season 38 | Round 5
Outlaw Modified Series | Stafford Motor Speedway
On Saturday, February 1st, the Bootleg Racing League’s Outlaw SK Modified Invitational Series rolled into Stafford Motor Speedway for Round 5 of Season 38. Aiden Young of Gambler Motorsports entered the night with a slim 4-point lead over Thunder Ridge Racing’s Donny Moore, setting up another intense battle in the championship fight.
Moore started on pole, with Tre Blohm taking advantage of his third-place start to jump into second as John Wilson secured third. An early caution shuffled the field, but Moore held onto the lead when racing resumed. A long green-flag run followed, with Blohm repeatedly challenging Moore but unable to complete the pass. Meanwhile, Chris Davis methodically worked his way forward, closing in on the leaders—only to have James Lowe charge through the field at an even stronger pace.
In the second half of the race, Lowe made his way around Blohm and set his sights on Moore. On lap 58, Lowe pounced, diving to the inside and taking control of the race lead with ease. From there, he was untouchable, stretching his advantage over the rest of the field.
Moore, struggling in the closing laps, fought hard to defend second place against Davis. Davis eventually pried the position away with 15 laps to go, while Young—who had climbed through the field multiple times only to slide back—finally secured third from Moore with 10 laps remaining.
While the battle raged behind him, Lowe with Team Rocket Racing put on a clinic, pulling away to win by more than three seconds in a commanding return to BRL competition after several years away from the series.
Young extended his points lead over Moore by a single point heading into Round 6. The BRL returns next Saturday, February 8th, at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Catch all the action live at 7:40 PM ET, only on the Virtual Grip Network!
