Sim Racing Software: iRacing
William Hargreaves with the Dirt Panda race team took his first checkered flag of the season tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Volusia Speedway Park ahead of Stephen Spies and Brandyn Proudfoot. “I like short track racing. I think it should be a great race.”, Hargreaves commented about the next round of the season at I-55 Speedway, “If it’s anything like the racing here tonight it should really be good.”
William Hargreaves took the pole with a quick lap at 19.780 to start off the third round of the season and lined up alongside Stephen Spies to take the green flag for the first heat race of the night. Hargreaves cleared ahead of Spies while Spies had to battle with Brandyn Proudfoot for 2nd place. Proudfoot to the inside of Spies dropped back into 3rd to defend against Kevin Davis quickly coming up from behind. Spies started to look to the inside of Hargreaves but couldn’t match the pace giving Proudfoot a chance to take the high line away and pushing Spies back into 3rd just as Hargreaves crossed the line to take the checkered flag.
The second heat was led out by Billy Northcutt with Chris Hill to the inside. Northcutt and Chris Hill ran side by side for 4 laps until Chris Hill was able to pull ahead into the lead as Jeffrey Hardin dove below Northcutt. Northcutt closed back up on Chris Hill and dove down beneath him going into the final corner and they crossed the line with Hill barely holding Northcutt off by 0.066 in the end. Bobby Hayes and Hunter Hill shared the front row for the third and final heat of the night. Hayes had a great jump off the start and quickly pulled ahead of the field while J R Shepherd and Hunter Hill battled over 2nd place. Hayes was able to use the battle to extend well out of reach and took the checkered flag with Shepherd holding 2nd place.
Spies led the C Main consolation as the green flag again came out over the field and cleared ahead of H. Hill going into the first corner. John Wilson dove low to challenge for 2nd pushing Hill back to 3rd for a moment before Hill pulled a crossover and went below Wilson. Wilson was able to hold Hill off while also closing the gap to Spies but couldn’t reach the leader before the checkered flag came out and the drivers moved to the B Main consolation event. Hardin took the green flag and jumped out ahead of Kevin Davis. Davis struggled on the start and fell back as Joe Segalla and Brian Lawson cleared into 2nd and 3rd. The top 3 separated themselves from the rest of the pack as Hardin out pacing the field all the way to the checkered flag.
Hargreaves started the main feature event off in the lead to the inside of Chris Hill as the green flag came out to start the final event of the night. Hargreaves quickly cleared ahead of Hill as Proudfoot and Hayes fought over 3rd. Proudfoot struggled to find his way and fell back into the field. Northcutt took advantage of the chaos jumping up into 3rd and diving beneath Hill. Northcutt got a little loose and had to lift giving the position back to Hill before regrouping and trying for 2nd place once again with 10 laps completed.
Again, Northcutt had to fall back behind Hill but found Hayes waiting and found himself fighting to not fall back further into the field. Hargreaves and Hill battled side by side until Hayes lost control coming out of the corner and made hard contact with the outside wall ending his night early as Northcutt moved up to 2nd and pressuring for the lead. Proudfoot climbed his way back up to 3rd and was looking to the inside of Northcutt with Spies running very close behind in 4th. Hargreaves was able to build up a gap ahead of the rest of the field as the battle for 2nd continued and held up several drivers behind them.
With 10 laps remaining, Hargreaves had extended his lead to almost a whole second over Northcutt and Proudfoot, still running side by side. Spies was starting to look impatient forcing a three wide situation several times as the laps counted down. Northcutt was pushed back to 4th as Spies dove low under Proudfoot and cleared ahead into 2nd. Northcutt saw the chance and dove low beneath Proudfoot but didn’t have enough race left as Hargreaves took the checkered flag 1.7 seconds ahead of Stephen Spies with Proudfoot, Northcutt, and Shepherd rounding out the top 5 for the night.
Brandyn Proudfoot still has a solid lead in the point standings with 235 points overall after winning the first two round of the season. J R Shepherd holds onto 2nd place with 198 points with Billy Northcutt only 9 points behind up to 3rd place. Jeffrey Hardin fell back to 4th place with 178 points and Bobby Hayes rounds out the top 5 drivers with 174 points. Bootleg Racing League | Season 12 | Round 2
Dirt Street Stock Series | Weedsport Speedway
Sim Racing Software: iRacing
Brandyn Proudfoot with Jim Beaver eSports took the checkered flag tonight after struggling earlier in the evening with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Weedsport Speedway ahead of Jeffrey Hardin and Hunter Hill. “I went to turn into the corner and I turned too far and effectively I just started power sliding going into the corner and it got to the point to where I just had to start running the top because I wasn’t sure if I was going to hit the wall or not because I couldn’t feel a thing”, Proudfoot explained on his earlier mistakes that lost him the lead early in the race.
Brandyn Proudfoot started the evening off by jumping to the top of the timing and scoring boards taking the pole with a fast time at 17.672 in the final moments of qualifying and leading the first heat race to the green flag alongside Chris Davis. The field quickly went single file behind Proudfoot who led every lap to take the win ahead of Davis. The second heat of the night was led out by Neville Ulph with J R Shepherd to his outside. Ulph cleared for the lead after a shaky start as Shepherd and Northcutt battled over 2nd place. Ulph took the checkered flag while Shepherd was able to clear for 2nd place in the end.
Jeffrey Hardin and John Wilson started on the front row for the C Main consolation race as the green flag came out. Wilson tried to stay alongside Hardin off the launch but couldn’t maintain the pace and fell back as Joe Segalla took advantage going below Wilson to take away 2nd place. Segalla struggled to close to the gap to Hardin while Wilson started to pressure Segalla for 2nd place going into the final lap and Hardin extended the lead out to over 1 second to take the win.
Billy Northcutt and Kenny Kibbey sat on the front row for the B Main consolation. Northcutt had a great launch as the green flag was thrown out over the field. Jason Menda got beneath Kibbey on the start and battled for 2nd as Northcutt pulled away from the field. Menda and Kibbey continued to battle back and forth as Hunter Hill closed up on the battle waiting to take advantage. Menda made contact with the inside wall and fell back to 4th as he recovered giving 2nd place to Kibbey as Northcutt took the checkered flag.
Proudfoot led the field to the green flag for the feature event with Ulph to his outside. Proudfoot had a great jump on the start and quickly pulled away from the rest of the field. Davis stayed with him as they extended the gap between them as Proudfoot misjudged the cushion high in turn 3 allowing Davis to get beneath him and take away the lead. Davis jumped out to over a 1 second lead on Northcutt, who also was able to overtake Proudfoot, as the drivers completed the first 10 laps.
Davis, Northcutt, and Proudfoot chased each other around the track going into the 2nd half of the race as Davis and Northcutt came together in turn three bringing out the caution and giving the lead back to Proudfoot going forward with Hardin to his outside. Davis struggled to climb back up through the field from his 7th place starting position on the restart. Hardin and Hunter Hill stayed tight on Proudfoot who was running more conservatively after his earlier mistakes. Davis had gotten back into 5th after clearing around Shepherd and Menda.
With 10 laps remaining, Hardin got to the inside of Proudfoot and tried to take the lead away but couldn’t find the speed out of the corners to finish the move. Davis found an opening beneath Kibbey, and the two drivers ran side by side around the final laps battling for 4th place. Proudfoot started to build up a gap between himself and Hardin as the white flag came out. Proudfoot maintained around the final lap to take the win with Hardin, Hill, Davis, and Kibbey rounding out the top 5 finishers tonight at Weedsport Speedway.
Brandyn Proudfoot extends his lead in the point standings with his second consecutive win this season with 164 points. J R Shepherd jumped up from 5th to 2nd place with 133 points. Jeffrey Hardin moved up into 3rd place with 120 points. Hunter Hill sits in 4th place with 117 points and Billy Northcutt rounds out the top 5 drivers so far this season with 116 points. The drivers of the Bootleg Racing League now prepare for another round at Volusia Speedway Park on July 8th with all of the dirt slinging action broadcast live at 7:10PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

Brandyn Proudfoot took the first win of the season tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Eldora Speedway ahead of Johnny Ratley and William Hargreaves. “Towards the end [Ratley and Hargreaves] definitely had my number, but I held on there just enough”, Proudfoot commented as the night came to a close, “[The] grip was just starting to go away towards the end, like I said. Used everything up probably in the first I’d say 25 [or] 30. The last 10 it was all [Ratley and Hargreaves] reeling me in. The only reason they didn’t pass me is they were battling each other I do believe.”
William Hargreaves took the pole to start off the season opener event as he put down a fast lap clocked at 19.587 beating Johnny Ratley’s time by 0.001. Hargreaves shared the front row in the first heat race with his teammate Billy Northcutt and had Brandyn Proudfoot directly behind him in 3rd. Hargreaves jumped out ahead of the pack as the green flag came out. Northcutt held onto 2nd running the inside line with Proudfoot running along the outside wall behind Hargreaves. The three drivers stayed stacked tightly together until the final corner where Proudfoot dove low beneath both Hargreaves and Northcutt to jump out ahead and take the win in the final moments with Northcutt coming in 2nd place.
Ratley opted to start the second heat from the outside alongside J R Shepherd as the green flag came out over the field. Ratley cleared for the lead and ran a defensive line trying to prevent Shepherd from being able to throw a slider against him. Ratley held the lead and took the checkered flag, and the drivers came back out on track for the C Main consolation event lead out by William Hargreaves. Hargreaves cleared ahead of Hunter Hill quickly off the start, but Hill stayed close to his bumper running along the outside wall.
Jeffrey Hardin and DV Runkle battled over 3rd place with Cody Jones looking to take advantage of the situation. As the drivers came around the final lap, Hargreaves took the win ahead of Hill and Runkle took 3rd place over Hardin and Jones behind him. The B Main consolation event was led to the green flag by Jason Menda with Chris Hill to his inside. Menda had a great launch off the start as the field went mostly single file along the high side. Menda’s car got upset in the corner and Hill and Hayes closed up on him as they went 3 wide at the halfway point in the race. Hayes had to drop back into 3rd while Hill stayed alongside Menda challenging from the low side. Hayes dove low beneath Hill but couldn’t complete the pass before Menda took the win over Hill.
Proudfoot came back to the track to lead the feature event to the green flag with Ratley to his inside. Proudfoot and Ratley stayed side by side off the start. 4 laps into the run, Proudfoot was finally able to clear ahead of Ratley as Hargreaves and Northcutt were both running low with Shepherd staying high close behind Ratley. Hargreaves got alongside Ratley as they went 3 wide over the lead again, but the momentum from the outside line kept Proudfoot in the lead with 10 laps completed.
A caution came out as the drivers crossed into the second half of the race with Proudfoot still leading over Ratley. Proudfoot had started to pull away and now found himself back alongside Ratley as he took the green flag and racing resumed. Proudfoot had a good jump and cleared for the lead quicker this time around. Hargreaves, Northcutt and Shepherd were battling over 3rd and Joe Segalla dove low trying to take 7th place away from Menda as the field entered the final 10 laps of the night.
Ratley and Hargreaves continued to battle for 2nd while Proudfoot again pulled away from the field. Shepherd was challenging Northcutt for 4th but couldn’t find the speed to complete the pass. Ratley and Hargreaves slowly started to reel Proudfoot back in and Ratley was able to get alongside Proudfoot in a few failed pass attempts going around the final laps. Ratley threw the car low in the final corner but wasn’t able to clear Proudfoot before Proudfoot took the checkered flag with Ratley, Hargreaves, Northcutt, and Shepherd rounding out the top 5 drivers tonight at Eldora Speedway.
Brandyn Proudfoot and Johnny Ratley come out of the first round of the season tied for the lead in the point standings both with 80 points. William Hargreaves has 76 points at the end of the night followed by Billy Northcutt with 72 points and J R Shepherd with 68 points. The drivers of the Bootleg Racing League now set their sights to Weedsport Speedway for the next round on June 24th with all of the dirt slinging action broadcast live at 7:10PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

William Hargreaves with the Dirt Panda race team took the championship in tonight’s season finale event with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Knoxville Raceway while Billy Northcutt took the checkered flag ahead of Hargreaves and J R Shepherd. “We never said a word the whole race both of us we were just locked in and going for it”, Northcutt commented about the intense battle for the lead against his teammate, “You could’ve barely put a piece of paper between us a bunch of different times and we both backed off when we needed to and just made that the most fun.”
J R Shepherd jumped to the top of the boards to start off the night in qualifying with a quick lap clocked at 22.437 and taking the pole for the first heat race to the inside of William Hargreaves. Hargreaves was able to get beneath Shepherd as the drivers ran side by side for two laps until Hargreaves was able to clear for the lead. Shepherd stayed close behind Hargreaves peeking to the inside but wasn’t able to make an attempt for a pass before Hargreaves took the checkered flag. Billy Northcutt led the second heat to the green flag with Joe Segalla to his inside.
Northcutt had a great launch off the start pulling ahead of the field by more than a car length. Chris Davis and John Wilson battled over 3rd place while keeping the pressure on Segalla. Segalla ran a defensive line down the middle of the track making it difficult for either driver to get alongside him. Davis got a nose to Segalla’s inside as the white flag came out but couldn’t match pace as Segalla crossed the line in 2nd place behind Northcutt.
Jeffrey Hardin and Chris Davis were lined up on the front row for the consolation race as the green flag was thrown out over the field. Hardin opted to start from the high line which gave Davis an opportunity to stay alongside him off the start. After some contact between the drivers, Davis was able to clear into the lead with Hardin running tight on his rear bumper looking to return the favor. Robby Robinson caught the battle for the lead and started to put pressure on Hardin while Brennen Myers also caught the fight and tried to get beneath Robinson.
More contact between Davis and Hardin gave Myers the chance to get around Robinson as the white flag was thrown. Again, contact was made between Davis and Hardin that resulted in contact with several other drivers and Hardin was sent hard into the wall and turned around on the track as Davis crossed the line for the win with Hunter Hill sneaking through the chaos to take away 2nd place only 0.002 behind the leader.
William Hargreaves led the field to the green flag for the feature event alongside Billy Northcutt on the front row. Hargreaves cleared for the lead with Northcutt close behind off the start. Shepherd stayed with the leaders in 3rd place looking to get to the inside of Northcutt. Segalla was leading the rest of the field from 4th place ahead of Hunter Hill and Brennen Myers running side by side. Hill was able to take 4th away with an aggressive slider. Hardin had climbed through the field and was running in 6th with 10 laps completed.
Segalla and Hill continued to battle over 4th trading sliders back and forth with Hardin looking to split the drivers. Davis caught the battle and dove beneath Hardin and moved immediately on Segalla. Northcutt and Hargreaves were still battling hard over the lead trading sliders with neither driver willing to hold back as Shepherd watched them from 3rd place as the drivers crossed the halfway point in the race. Davis had moved up to 5th ahead of Segalla and was closing on Hill ahead of him.
Northcutt and Hargreaves showed no sign of letting up as the Dirt Panda teammates continued to fight over the lead. Segalla got alongside Robinson fighting for 6th place when the group quickly caught and overtook Davis who had damaged his car and was falling off the pace. With 10 laps remaining, Hargreaves was holding the lead as Northcutt kept the pressure up. The leaders were trading sliders back and forth all the way to the finish line as Northcutt held the lead when the white flag came out.
Hargreaves threw a slider coming out of the final corner but didn’t have the momentum to clear for the lead as Billy Northcutt crossed the line to take the win and Hargreaves claimed the season championship from 2nd place. “When we took the white flag… I went in high with him and [tried] to get as much of a run on him as I could to try to be able to set him up or do something there on the last corner, but I just didn’t get enough. He had too much of that cushion and nailed it too good to be able to do anything with him really.”, Hargreaves shared with us about battling his teammate around the final lap as well as winning the season championship, “[Proudfoot]’s one tough cookie to beat and he’s definitely proved he’s the top dog so I’m happy for sure. To beat him is a task in itself.”

William Hargreaves with the Dirt Panda Racing Team took his third win of the season tonight in the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Limaland Motorsports Park ahead of Stephen Spies and Chris Hill. “It worked out in my favor tonight for sure. I’m not really sure what happened there early on with [Proudfoot] and [Northcutt] but it kind of allowed me to get away and just do my own thing”, Hargreaves shared with us after the race, “I was pretty fortunate because I was struggling bad through [turns] three and four.”
William Hargreaves set a quick lap of 15.108 taking the pole 0.037 ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot in qualifying. John Wilson started to his outside as the first heat event took the green flag. Hargreaves had a good jump off the start and cleared ahead of Wilson quickly. Wilson was able to close the door on Chris Hill in 3rd as Hargreaves slowly pulled away from the field. Hargreaves took the checkered flag 0.7 ahead of Wilson crossing the line. Brandyn Proudfoot took to the track for the second heat with Billy Northcutt lined up to his inside.
Proudfoot quickly cleared ahead of Northcutt and started slowing building a gap as the green flag came out over the field. Proudfoot and Northcutt had pulled away from the field by over 1 second as they crossed the line with Proudfoot taking the win. Chris Hill led the consolation race to the green with Bobby Hayes to his outside. Hill had a very good launch off the start jumping out almost 1 second ahead of the field as Jeffrey Hardin and Stephen Spies both got around Hayes knocking Hayes back to 4th.
Hardin and Spies were starting the reel Hill back in as they crossed the halfway point while battling each other over 2nd place. Spies and Hardin ran side by side going into the final lap with Spies taking 2nd place ahead of Hardin by a bumper. Hill took the checkered flag mostly unchallenged ahead of the field. As the drivers started to line up for the feature event Hargreaves and Proudfoot, who were tied for the points lead going into the evening, found themselves sharing the front row as the green flag came out over the field.
Hargreaves opted to start from the outside and was able to clear ahead of Proudfoot. Northcutt took the opportunity and moved up into 2nd with Spies pressuring Proudfoot for 3rd. A few laps into the race, Hargreaves was able to stretch out a gap between himself and Northcutt while Proudfoot struggled to get around. Proudfoot made a dive to get beneath Northcutt but contact between the two drivers resulted with both drivers falling back through the running order before recovering.
Spies and Hill moved up into 2nd and 3rd after the incident but couldn’t find the pace to reel Hargreaves back in who was running over 1.5 seconds ahead of the field. Passing the halfway point of the 40-lap event, Spies had pulled away from Hill but was still unable to make any headway on closing the gap to Hargreaves running over 2 seconds ahead. Proudfoot had climbed back up through the pack to 7th place going into the last 10 laps with Northcutt running in 9th behind J R Shepherd.
In the final laps, Proudfoot continued to run the high line moving up to 6th behind Hayes and Wilson battling over 4th. Hargreaves was further extending his lead crossing the line over 3.6 seconds ahead of Spies as the checkered flag came out. Proudfoot took 5th place in the end with Northcutt finishing in 7th. Spies, Hill, and Hayes rounded out the top 5 finishers to include Proudfoot.
William Hargreaves broke the tie for the lead with tonight’s win now leading in the points standings with 791 points and 13 points ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot going into the final round of the season. Brandyn Proudfoot with Jim Beaver eSports claimed his 4th win of the season with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at The Dirt Track at Charlotte ahead of William Hargreaves and Billy Northcutt. “At the beginning of the race everyone was pushing going in then it would snap loose”, Proudfoot commented about the challenges he faced tonight, “It was such a difficult, difficult track and there towards the end I just had to run pretty much a lane off the wall and that was the only way I could get around this place.”
William Hargreaves took the pole for the night with a fast lap clocked at 18.514 and led the first heat to the green flag. Billy Northcutt tried several times to get around Hargreaves by using the inside line, but Hargreaves had superior momentum coming out of the corners and led every lap to the finish line. Johnny Ratley took the green for the second heat with Brandyn Proudfoot challenging to his inside. Similar to the first heat, the outside line was dominate and Ratley defended the line against Proudfoot taking the win.
Bobby Hayes took the green flag to start off the C Main consolation race with J R Shepherd to his outside. Shepherd stayed alongside Hayes for several laps as each driver tried to gain an advantage. With 2 laps to go, Shepherd was able to get a strong run pulling ahead of Hayes with Brennan Myers following behind him pushing Hayes back to 3rd before the checkered flag. Stephen Spies led the B Main event to the green. Spies had a strong launch off the start pulling ahead with Jeffrey Hardin and Jason Best battling over 2nd. Best was able to clear for the position and started to reel Spies back in as the drivers crossed the halfway point. Best was able to close the gap to Spies, but not able to make an attempt at the lead before Spies took the checkered flag.
Hargreaves was on the pole starting off the feature event and opted to start from the outside line with Ratley to his inside and Proudfoot lined up directly behind him. Hargreaves had a good jump off the start as Ratley dropped back to 3rd behind Proudfoot. Proudfoot threw an aggressive slider to clear into the lead forcing Hargreaves to check up hard to avoid contact losing all his momentum. Hargreaves, after collecting himself back up, retook the lead with a slider of his own clearing back in front of Proudfoot.
10 laps into the event, Proudfoot again took the lead away this time around the outside of Hargreaves. Hargreaves and Northcutt were running 2nd and 3rd as they pulled away from the rest of the field, but neither driver was able to match Proudfoot’s pace going into the second half of the 40 lap event. Ratley found himself running alone with over a one second gap ahead and several seconds behind him on track. Northcutt closed in on Hargreaves trying to get within reach to battle for 2nd with Proudfoot pulling further away in the lead.
The majority of the field were trading positions aggressively led by Best in 5th place as the laps counted down. With 10 laps remaining, Proudfoot continued to lead but Hargreaves was able to close the gap as they negotiated through lap traffic. Brandyn Proudfoot with Jim Beaver eSports took the checkered flag for the third time this season with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stocks Series at Lanier National Speedway ahead of Billy Northcutt and William Hargreaves. “I tried to just run the line the best I could and ultimately I just, just made enough time to get that checkered flag”, Proudfoot commented after the race win, “If it was a 50 lapper here it would’ve been a three-way battle for sure.”
William Hargreaves took the pole with a fast lap at 16.272 after arriving on track with just enough time to get one lap in during the qualifying session. Proudfoot started to his outside as the green flag was thrown out starting off the first heat of the night. Hargreaves cleared ahead of Proudfoot off the start with Billy Northcutt battled Jason Best over 3rd. Hargreaves and Proudfoot ran side by side with neither driver showing an advantage over the other going into the final lap. Hargreaves was able to hold on from the outside crossing the line 0.068 over Proudfoot.
Chris Hill and John Wilson led the field to the green for the second and final heat of the night. Hill had a strong launch and cleared in front of Wilson. Wilson stayed with Hill but wasn’t able to challenge for the lead before Hill took the checkered flag. The B Main consolation race was led out by Northcutt with Jeffrey Hardin to his outside. A very good launch from Northcutt gave Jason Best, starting in 3rd, the opportunity to follow him past Hardin and the two drivers started to pull away. Northcutt showed superior speed staying out of reach of Best all the way to the checkered flag and taking the win.
The drivers lined up on track for the feature event behind Hargreaves with Wilson to his inside as the green flag came out. Hargreaves had a good launch pulling out in front of the field. Best and Wilson made contact ending Wilson’s night very early and forcing Best to the rear of the field after spinning around on track. Proudfoot gained the most from the incident moving up into 2nd place and challenging Hargreaves for the lead from the inside line running alongside of each other similar to their heat race earlier.
Hargreaves was able to hold the lead as Proudfoot slid back in line behind the leader. Hargreaves, Proudfoot, and Northcutt pulled away from the rest of the field as the three drivers battled over the lead going into the second half of the race. Hargreaves and Proudfoot traded sliders back and forth for several laps before Proudfoot was able to hold it and started stretching the gap between himself and Hargreaves. Hargreaves and Northcutt had slight contact giving Northcutt an opening to take away 2nd place.
With 10 laps remaining, Northcutt was able to clear into 2nd place as Proudfoot pulled ahead by over 1 second. Northcutt started aggressively closing the gap to Proudfoot in the final laps but wasn’t able to completely close the distance as Proudfoot crossed the line closely followed by Northcutt and Hargreaves, with J R Shepherd and Jason Best rounding out the top 5 finishers of the night.

Billy Northcutt with the Dirt Panda Racing Team claimed his 2nd win of the season tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Fairbury Speedway ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot and William Hargreaves. “That caution came out and I noticed that [Proudfoot] was right behind me and I as like well my chances of winning just dropped to at least 50/50”, Northcutt joked with us after battling Proudfoot out of the final turn to the checkered flag, “I just went in and stayed focused on the wall… and when I came off the wall he was right there and he backed out of [his slider] though, he wasn’t going to quite clear it or it was going to be right on the nose.”
Billy Northcutt took the pole with a fast lap at 14.56 on the boards in the qualifying session to start off the evening strong. Taking the green flag in the first heat, Northcutt had Proudfoot instantly pressuring for the lead. Proudfoot wasn’t able to find the speed on the inside line almost allowing Matt Shinoski to overtake for 2nd but slammed the door holding the position as he fell in line over 1.5 seconds behind Northcutt as Northcutt took the checkered flag.
Robby Robinson led the second heat event to the green flag with J R Shepherd to his inside. Shepherd tried to stay alongside but fell back to 4th before he was able to get in line while Robinson found himself under attack from Chris Hill and William Hargreaves. Robinson ran the outside pulling away from Hill while Hargreaves threw a failed slider that let Shepherd take 3rd away while Robinson took the win.
The C Main consolation race had Matt Shinoski and Jason Menda on the front row as the green flag came out. Shinoski took off to a strong start from running the outside line with Stephen Spies getting up into 2nd. Spies threw a slider on Shinoski and was able to overtake for the lead as he pulled away out of reach of retaliation from Shinoski or Menda behind him. Menda made contact with the outside wall giving Bobby Hayes a chance to take away 3rd but Menda defended his position while Spies crossed the line for the win.
The B Main consolation race started with Shepherd and Hargreaves on the front row. Shepherd had a good launch off the start clearing Hargreaves for the lead, but Hargreaves stayed close behind with minor contact going through the corners. Hargreaves and Shepherd traded sliders with 4 laps to go with Hargreaves ending with the lead in the end taking the checkered flag with Shepherd still close behind.
Northcutt starting on the pole for the feature event and opted to started from the outside of Robinson as the green flag flew. Northcutt had a great launch as Hill rode the outside line around Robinson who found himself stranded on the inside falling further back in the field. Robinson found a gap to slide up into in 7th place running behind Brandyn Proudfoot. Northcutt continued to lead as Hill and Hargreaves battled hard over 2nd ending in contact sending Hargreaves far back in the field.
As the drivers crossed the halfway point in the race, Northcutt continued to hold the lead holding off Hill and Spies. Proudfoot had gotten up to 4th place and Hargreaves was back inside the top 10 and climbing trying to salvage what he could before the end. Proudfoot started battling with Spies and Hill which allowed Northcutt to pull away building up a gap of over 1 second ahead of Hill.
Going into the last 10 laps, Proudfoot cleared into 2nd place as Hill and Spies came together with both drivers getting sent around. The caution flag was thrown out with 7 laps remaining from that battle putting Proudfoot to the inside of Northcutt at the disadvantage. Northcutt had a good launch, but Proudfoot stayed right on his bumper as the laps counted down. Proudfoot threw an aggressive slider coming out of turn four on the final lap, but Northcutt got a nose back ahead and took the checkered flag.
William Hargreaves holds onto the lead in the point standings after his amazing recovery tonight finishing in 3rd with 548 points. Brandyn Proudfoot closed the gap now off the lead by a mere 2 points with Billy Northcutt close behind with 523 points. Bobby Hayes and Stepen Spies round out the top 5 drivers so far in the season. William Hargreaves with the Dirt Panda Racing Team led every lap and took the checkered flag for the 2nd week in a row in the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Lernerville Speedway ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot and J R Shepherd. “That was a good race for sure, tough track to drive”, Hargreaves commented after his strong performance tonight, “You just gotta be real careful about it and not make mistakes and I was fortunate tonight. I really didn’t make any mistake and was able to come home with the win.”
The night started off with William Hargreaves taking the pole with a 17.796 in qualifying beating Brandyn Proudfoot by only 0.001 as the drivers took the track for the first heat. Jason Best started to the inside of Hargreaves as the field took the green flag. Hargreaves had a strong launch off the start and the field quickly single filed out behind him with Best sliding back to 3rd behind Chirs Hill. Hargreaves took the win with a 0.5 second gap over Hill in the end.
Proudfoot and Billy Northcutt started on the front row of the second heat of the night with Proudfoot opting to start from the outside line. Proudfoot quickly pulled away from the field while Northcutt had to defend the 2nd position from John Wilson successfully holding the position across the line. Jason Best took the green flag in the C Main event ahead of J R Shepherd. Best led every lap to the checkered as the field stayed mostly single file with the exception of Robbie Robinson and Stephen Spies battling hard over 3rd place with Spies taking the position on the final lap.
The B Main event started with Wilson in the lead. A great start over Bobby Hayes gave Wilson a strong lead that Wilson continued to build on throughout the race maintaining a gap of around 0.5 over Hayes as they crossed the line. With the conclusion of the consolation events, the drivers lined up on track for the feature event with Hargreaves and Proudfoot on the front row. Hargreaves had a good launch clearing ahead of Proudfoot with Northcutt coming up behind from 3rd and also able to clear Proudfoot into 2nd on the first lap.
Spies made a strong charge sliding in behind Northcutt forcing Proudfoot down low and back to 4th place going into the 10th lap with Wilson close behind looking to take advantage. 14 laps into the race, Northcutt miscalculated and slid over the berm and feel to the rear of the field before rejoining the track. This allowed Spies, Proudfoot, and Wilson to all move up one spot behind Hargreaves still leading the field. Wilson made a similar mistake a few laps later falling to the back and shuffling the leading order again with Shepherd and Joe Segalla rounding out the top 5 behind Hargreaves, Spies, and Proudfoot.
Proudfoot tried running the low line several times to overtake Spies in 2nd place but couldn’t find the speed coming out of the corners to outpace the momentum Spies carried down the straightaways. An unfortunate moment for Spies as his right rear tire hooked the berm in turn three sent him hard into the outside wall. Bobby Hayes moved up into the top 5 after that incident following Segalla as the battle for the lead intensified going into the final 10 laps between Hargreaves and Proudfoot.
In the final laps, Hargreaves managed to pull away and build a 0.8 second gap over Proudfoot as a caution was thrown out with 2 laps remaining. Restarting single file, Hargreaves had the advantage over Proudfoot as he took the green and white flags together. Proudfoot sent an aggressive dive below Hargreaves, but it wasn’t enough in the end as Proudfoot was forced to slide in behind Hargreaves as they crossed the line with Shepherd, Hayes, and Best rounding out the top 5 finishers.
William Hargreaves further extended his lead in the point standings with his win tonight now with 478 points and 10 points ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot. Billy Northcutt sits in 3rd with 439 points after his great recovery in the end and Bobby Hayes and Jason Best round out the top 5 drivers as the drivers now start the second half of the season. The Bootleg Racing League now heads over Fairbury Speedway on May 6th for the next round of Season 11 with all of the dirt slinging action broadcast live at 7:10PM ET only on the Virtual Grip Network!

Billy Northcutt with the Dirt Panda Racing Team led flag to flag for the win tonight in the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stocks Series at Cedar Lake Speedway ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot and William Hargreaves. “That was a really fun race… I’d give money for [an] all green race tonight so I don’t have to get nervous if I’m up here leading and everybody accomplished that.”, Northcutt commented after his dominating run tonight, “I can’t guarantee that I was the fastest car on the track, but [Hargreaves] and [Proudfoot] were racing clean once they got behind me.”
Billy Northcutt sat on the pole with a fast time at 15.878 in the qualifying session tonight around 0.03 faster than William Hargreaves, Brandyn Proudfoot, and Jason Best behind him. Northcutt and Proudfoot shared the front row as the green flag came out over the first heat of the evening. Northcutt dominated the event taking the win ahead of Proudfoot by over 0.5 crossing the line. Hargreaves had Best to his inside as he took the green in the second heat. Hargreaves had a strong launch off the start pulling ahead and leading every lap to the checkered flag while Best battled with John Wilson holding onto 2nd place in the end.
Stephen Spies started out front for the C-Main consolation race with Bobby Hayes to his outside. Spies cleared Hayes early with Joe Segalla challenging Hayes for 2nd place. Spies and Hayes were able to separate themselves from the rest of the field to battle over the lead as the white flag came out with Spies able to hold the lead for the win. Wilson was leading the field to the inside of J R Shepherd to start off the B-Main consolation. A great launch from Wilson allowed him to clear Shepherd quickly taking control of the field. Running single file, Wilson led Shepherd and Hunter Hill to the checkered flag unchallenged.
Billy Northcutt took the green flag in the 40-lap feature event opting to start from the outside line with Hargreaves to the inside. Northcutt took a very high line jumping out to a strong lead over Hargreaves with Best, Proudfoot, and Spies following single file behind. The top 5 were able to pull away from the rest of the field with Bobby Hayes leading the second group ahead of Wilson and Shepherd. 10 laps down, Proudfoot overtook Best with an aggressive slider and Best wasn’t able to get the crossover completed in time to hold back Proudfoot’s advance.
Northcutt and Hargreaves built a two second gap ahead of Proudfoot as they crossed the halfway mark. Spies, Best, and Hayes battled over 4th as Wilson and Shepherd waited for an opportunity from behind. Wilson stuck his nose in and was able to get around Hayes into 6th with 15 laps remaining as Spies still led the rear pack from 4th place. Northcutt still led the field, but Proudfoot had reeled the leaders back in and overtook Hargreaves now right behind Northcutt.
Going into the final 5 laps over the race, Northcutt had caught up to lap traffic with Proudfoot pressuring for the lead. Negotiating through the rear of the field, Northcutt used the lap traffic to hold Proudfoot at bay and took the checkered flag crossing the line 0.142 ahead of Proudfoot with Hargreaves, Spies, and Best rounding out tonight’s top 5 finishers.
William Hargreaves continues to lead the points standings with 394 points after finishing 3rd tonight. Brandyn Proudfoot closed to gap from 2nd place to only 6 points with Billy Northcutt in 3rd place with 374 points, 20 points off the lead.
