Autobahn Sportscar Challenge | Season 11 | Round 2
LMP2/GT3 Multiclass Event | Road Atlanta
Daniel Neice celebrates a hard earned victory at the second round of the Autobahn Sportscar Challenge 1 hour event at Road Atlanta ahead of Carter Kundinger and David Williams. Williams claimed the lead early on and was dominating the field for the first half, but unfortunate technical issues gave him an extended pit stop that sent him back to the mid pack. A hard charge in the second half got him back to a podium position in the end, but it wasn’t enough for him to reclaim the lead from Neice. Jordan Lacey won the GT Pro class and Ian Lake took home the win for the GT AM class.
The constant threat while maneuvering through traffic was always on the minds of the leading drivers as nightfall took away a lot of visibility and made passes more unpredictable. “That was a crazy race.”, Kundinger told us. “The traffic has it’s good moments and it has it’s bad moments. My second place tonight came down to staying out of everything.” With an impressive charge through the field, Williams went from 11th to 3rd in the second half of the Prototype class. “I actually pulled off a top 3, I’m actually very shocked and pleased with that, but also upset. You know, I threw away another what should have been an easy win.”
Lacey had a strong, consistent run tonight in the GT Pro class with a car that could go the distance. “The setup I was using really played to my driving style so I was able to really throw it over the curves as much as I could and it was really quick on the straights too. So it worked out in my favor.” Looking forward, the drivers of the Autobahn Sportscar Challenge set their sights on the Mosport event at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in two weeks. “I love Mosport”, Daniel Neice told us, “I feel like I’m very, very comfortable there.”

Bootleg Racing League | Season 8 | Round 9
Grand National Series | Martinsville Speedway
Kenny Kibbey drove his Nocturnal Gaming Chevrolet all the way to victory lane after leading every lap at the Bootleg Racing League Grand National Series 100 lap event around Martinsville Speedway ahead of J R Shepherd and Mathew Thunhorst. Kibbey started in 2nd place behind Donny Moore and wasted no time securing the lead for himself and maintained a comfortable gap ahead of the competition even through a restart after a caution in the second half. Shepherd and Thunhorst had a titanic battle over 2nd place, but Shepherd never allowed Thunhorst the opportunity to take away the inside line.
Securing his second win of the season, Kibbey moves into 3rd place in the point standings and closes his gap to 18 points behind J R Shepherd who is the current leader. Thunhorst still holds onto 2nd only 7 points behind Shepherd. Justin Morton finished tonight in 7th place and drops back to 4th in the points now 2 points behind Kibbey. With only two events remaining to determine the season champion, there is a mere 20 point split between these top 4 drivers as we head to The Bullring in Las Vegas next weekend and finally crowning our new champion at New Smyrna Speedway the following weekend.
“We’ve had a few rough weeks last couple, a few races that kind of got away from us. It’s a great shot in the arm to be back in victory lane.”, Kenny Kibbey told us about dominating the entirety of the event ahead of such a competitive field of drivers. “The challenge each week has been to kind of get used to the setup that’s been made for us and sometimes it works out for me and sometimes it doesn’t.”

Bootleg Racing League | Season 9 | Round 9
Dirt Street Stock Series | Dirt Track at Charlotte
Brandyn Proudfoot brought the Jim Beaver eSports street stock to victory lane after a hard fought battle against William Hargreaves and Billy Northcutt at the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock feature event at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The night’s race was more chaotic than usual as several cautions kept the battle up front intense through tight restarts and many opportunities to challenge Proudfoot for the lead.
With his sixth win of the season, Proudfoot is still in 2nd place in the point standings behind Billy Northcutt by 18 points after missing last week’s race. Hargreaves holds onto 3rd place and J R Shepherd took 4th place away from Jason Best who dropped back to 5th. At this point in the season with only two events remaining the season championship is shaping up to be an epic two way battle between Northcutt and Proudfoot heading to Limaland Motorsports Park and finally concluding at Volusia Speedway Park. This is the closest points battle the dirt racers of BRL have seen in a long time.
Never able to shake Northcutt and Hargreaves, Proudfoot is always conscious of his competition. “It’s always in your mind when you’re in the lead that you gotta be careful who’s coming behind you. Definitely hearing the engines a little bit made me worry” Looking forward to the final two events, Proudfoot still maintains his usual easy going attitude telling us, “I’m just happy to race here with the guys. Does it make it exciting that I missed a race and the points race is very close, closest that it’s been in a few seasons? Absolutely. But it’s honestly just about coming back and trying to make every race that I can and racing with the guys. That’s all there is to it.”

Autobahn Sportscar Challenge | Season 11 | Round 1
LMP2/GT3 Multiclass Event | Daytona International Speedway
David Shutt with the PG13 Misfits Racing Team made a strong statement as he absolutely dominated the competition and took home the win for the LMP2 Prototype class tonight after controlling the field through the first round of the Autobahn Sportscar Challenge around the Daytona International Speedway ahead of Daniel Neice and Billy Smith II. Paul Gibson led the GT Pro class to the checkered flag and Ryan Robertson took the win in the GT AM class.
The first 30 minutes of the race were intense as the 58 car field took the green flag aggressively trying to gain any possible positions early on. After only 6 laps the LMP2 class drivers were dealing with traffic as they caught the rear of the GT drivers causing problems as misunderstood intentions ended the night early for a few unlucky drivers, including David Williams. The last hour around Daytona was much calmer as drivers found their comfortable grooves and were struggling with their own equipment rather than other drivers on track.
“Especially at the start, it was a chaotic first 45 minutes or so with just people spinning, taking each other out. It was just a race of survival at the end of the day.”, said Ryan Robertson, the GT AM winner. “My goal was just to stay in contact with the leader until it started getting a little crazier in the end”, explained Paul Gibson, winner in the GT Pro class, about getting the lead away from Jordan Lacey in the last few moments of the race. “We all just started dropping off with different interactions with traffic so it was just kind of down to me and [Jordan] Lacey there in the end.”

Bootleg Racing League | Season 8 | Round 8
Grand National Series | Lanier National Speedway
J R Shepherd with Different Path Motorsports fought hard against his teammate, Austin Boelke, and secured his second win of the season ahead of Mathew Thunhorst at the Bootleg Racing League Grand National event at Lanier National Speedway. Boelke, Shepherd, and Thunhorst had a race all to themselves as they left the rest of the field behind, Shepherd and Thunhorst stalking Boelke lap after lap waiting for him to make a mistake. Tragically, that moment came with only 7 laps remaining in the event as Boelke got loose coming out of the corner just enough to let Shepherd and Thunhorst take away the inside line and Boelke was shuffled back to 3rd after leading every lap up to that point.
Shepherd holds the lead in the point standings with a 6 point advantage over Thunhorst. Justin Morton, who finished tonight’s race in 4th, is still in contention for the championship following behind Shepherd by 15 points. Kenny Kibbey came home in 6th tonight and holds onto 4th in the standings 19 points off the lead. With three races remaining in the season, any of these drivers could potentially walk away with the season championship title in December.
“That was a very, very stressful race. Just took a lot of patience.”, Shepherd told us while his crew celebrated the win. “I have tons of respect for Austin [Boelke] and he ran a tremendous race tonight and in my opinion he’s one of the best drivers who is out here.” Going into the next event at Martinsville, Shepherd is feeling the pressure. “It’s going to be extremely tough. You’ve seen this year, we’ve had so many different winners, so many guys that have been up front on a consistent basis. The racing’s really hard, there’s nothing easy about trying to making a pass on somebody out here.”

Bootleg Racing League | Season 9 | Round 8
Dirt Street Stock Series | Lanier National Speedway
Billy Northcutt with the Dirt Panda Racing Team dominated the field tonight and claimed his first win of the season at the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock 40 lap feature event at Lanier National Speedway ahead of his teammate William Hargreaves and Jim Reavis. “I came out into this race just hoping to have a good race”, Northcutt told us as he feels that he is finally coming out of a string of unfortunate luck that has been following his team this season.
Brandyn Proudfoot did not get on track in time to compete and that severely shook up the top 5 in the points standings. Northcutt moved up to 1st ahead of Proudfoot with a gap of 31 points. Hargreaves, who finished the race in 2nd place, moves up to 3rd in the points and closes the gap to the lead making the championship battle a three way battle. Jason Best moves up into 4th as Johnny Ratley dropped back as he didn’t run for the second week in a row, essentially taking himself out of the championship competition.
“I came in with pretty good confidence. I had a teammate behind me and a little bit of a lead stretched out there. [There] Wasn’t a ton of cautions, so I was able to just drive my race like it was an afternoon out on the road.”, Northcutt joked. “There [were] no lap cars to deal with, it was about the easiest drive you can hope for as a leader in a race.”
PLMDS – Fall Nationals R6 Recap

Pro Late Model Dirt Series | Round 6
Fall Nationals | Volusia Speedway
Ethan Toedter with Newton Cattle Farms Racing took home the checkered flag at the Pro Late Model Dirt Series Fall Nationals 30 lap event at Volusia Speedway, The Gobbler 30, ahead of Ryan Underwood and Justin Thompson. With a hard fought battle all the way to the end between Toedter, Underwood, and Cardwell, this was any drivers’ race to the very end. “I knew we were all going to be even, we all race together all of the time. So, I mean, we’re all going to race each other with respect.”, Toedter told us about the intense battle for the lead.
A late caution might have been frustrating for Toedter, but was exactly what Underwood and Cardwell needed as they had made contact and lost the momentum to stay with Toedter. This allowed them to close back up and try to battle for the lead again over a GWC finish, but Toedter held them off to the finish line and with that win took 1st place in the current points standings, Underwood sliding back into 2nd place. With tonight’s event awarding double points, the championship is still very much contested between Toedter and Underwood going into the final round.
Knowing he’d have to try something different to get an advantage over Underwood and Cardwell, Toedter explained, “Once I got behind both of them they started doing battle and, at that time, I knew I was going to be quicker because they were sitting there throwing sliders back and forth and whatever. So I honestly just started trying to figure out a line. So that’s when I just started rolling that slick both corners and it was really good.”
C2CRL Charity Event Recap

Coast 2 Coast Racing League | Charity Event Finals
Disabled Veterans Charity Event | Knoxville Raceway
Kyle Moonen took the checkered flag at the Coast 2 Coast Racing League’s Disabled Veterans Charity Event at Knoxville Speedway, the culmination of four action packed nights of racing, ahead of Lane Snook and Ross Korynta. Tonight’s excitement involved several series of shorter races including a Veterans Only 20 lap race leading up to the 50 lap feature event to finish out the night. Starting off in 2nd place, Moonen seemed to hold back in the beginning while just holding his position for the first half. Securing the lead on lap 30 from Atkinson, Moonen took advantage of the lap traffic using the opportunity to create a gap between himself and the rest of the field.
To get into the C2CRL Disabled Veterans Charity Event, all drivers had to pay a minimum registration fee with all proceeds being donated to support Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) and Honour House Society (honourhouse.ca). Both charities support our military veterans and their families with a wide range of support programs. The night’s action consisted of several class main events, the top 4 finishers from each race moving up to the next level. The big movers throughout were Joe Canellas and Greg Parmalee who each joined us in the D Main race and made the transfer spots through to the B Main, running those three races one after another. The top 4 from the B Main advanced to the feature, along with the winner from the Veterans Only race. The feature opened with an impressive show of car control from the 27 driver field as they gave the fans and our nations’ heroes a flawless four wide salute in the 360 dirt sprints for a full lap around Knoxville Raceway.
With fuel conservation being a real concern for these drivers over the 50 laps we saw different strategies emerging as some chose to save early and some ran hard to the end. Moonen was confident that he could push it as he explained to us, “I wasn’t too worried about it. I knew at that last caution I had, you know, enough left. I was more worried about Lane [Snook] and the guys behind me, if they had enough, if they were saving up until then, that was kind of the trick of it.” Austin Stern showed us how close the drivers were on fuel as he ran out of fuel coming out of turn 4 around the final lap unfortunately dropping from 3rd to 8th coming across the finish line and giving up that podium finish to Korynta.

Bootleg Racing League | Season 8 | Round 7
Grand National Series | Myrtle Beach Speedway
James Lowe took home his first win of the season tonight at the Bootleg Racing League Grand National Series 100 lap event around Myrtle Beach Speedway ahead of J R Shepherd and Mathew Thunhorst. Lowe took the lead from Jeffery Hardin early in the race quickly getting into a comfortable groove and out pacing the rest of the field as the other championship drivers fought among themselves for the best possible finishing position they could secure. Thunhorst made a strong charge for the front after being involved in an incident on the first lap that essentially made him start the race from the back of the field.
J R Shepherd holds onto the points lead with a total of 273 points only 5 points ahead of Mathew Thunhorst and 12 points ahead of Justin Morton. Kenny Kibbey is still in 4th place in the standings sitting just 2 points behind Morton. With his win today, James Lowe now trails behind Shepherd by 66 points, still within reach of the championship battle if he continues to put on strong performances in the last 4 rounds of the season. Each of these driver have won one race this season with the exception of Thunhorst who took the checkered flag twice, once at Hickory Motor Speedway and again at Five Flags Speedway.
“Got a lot of good competition out there so it’s hard to get a win. So when you get one, you gotta feel good about it.”, Lowe commented with us while celebrating his win tonight. Thunhorst held no hard feelings with Justin Morton after contact sent him to the back of the field early in the race. He made an impressive run back to the front and finished in 3rd place in the end, “Can’t complain too much from that on lap 2 to sitting on the podium here on lap 100. So, a little rough, a little adversity, but you know, still a good day.”

Bootleg Racing League | Season 9 | Round 7
Dirt Street Stock Series | Fairbury Speedway
William Hargreaves with the Dirt Panda Racing Team takes home their first win of the season ahead of Brandyn Proudfoot and Billy Northcutt at the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series feature event at Fairbury Speedway. J R Shepherd made a strong run early in the race with a great pace and staying with the front until unfortunate contact with Proudfoot sent him spinning into the infield. Proudfoot seemed to struggle early on finding his groove, but was able to make his way through the field and pressure Hargreaves for the lead coming across the finish line.
Proudfoot continues to gap the other drivers in the point standings now with 546 points putting him 53 points ahead of Billy Northcutt. Johnny Ratley, who did not race in this event, moved down to third in the standings now 113 points behind Proudfoot. Hargreaves holds onto 5th place trailing behind by 148 points. Simply winning more races won’t be enough to close the gap for Hargreaves. He’ll have to hope for some upsets in the field if he wants to challenge Proudfoot for the championship in the end.
“Once I got the lead it was pretty simple, just kind of lay back and do your thing and kind of keep hitting your marks until you feel some pressure.”, Hargreaves commented about holding control of the lead after a restart on lap 14 shook up the order up front. “Proudfoot, he had my heart thumping there at the end. I was able to ride so long there doing my own thing. He came on strong and got me going for sure, I thought he was going to get me.”
