Coast 2 Coast Racing League | Week 5
Hometown Heroes Series | Volusia Speedway Park

Ross Korynta of Phantom Motorsports claimed his first win of the season at the A&J Custom Creations 305 Sprints Series with the Coast 2 Coast Racing League Hometown Heroes Series 20 lap feature around Volusia Speedway ahead of Blake Chapman and John Heyn. Korynta commented on his win, “Blake [Chapman] was a little faster on the bottom and then once I saw he was down there then I moved down there kind of in block mode. I think he was a little bit faster than me tonight, but sometimes that’s racing.”

Randy Shreves of LGR Motorsports won the ABR Setup Shop 360 Sprints Series 25 lap feature beating out John Heyn and Brian Dickens in a chaotic start and stop race with multiple cautions. Many drivers had to pack it up early tonight as incidents with the restarts prevented a good, long green flag run. Shreves was unavailable for comment after the race, but Heyn, who finished in 2nd, shared with us, “This track was actually, I thought, in pretty good shape tonight so I don’t know what all of that craziness came from.”

Tader Williams led every lap all the way to the checkered flag at the COOLRAY Air Conditioning & Heating Pro Late Model Dirt Series 30 lap feature ahead of Nick Vickrey and John Heyn. Williams talked with us afterward about the last few laps of the race, “I got a good restart there with 8 to go. I knew I had a pretty good car up under me as long as I just stayed out of trouble and didn’t hit anything I was pretty much going to be alright so I just kind of rode my line and I found the bottom there with 5 to go and was able to pull away pretty good.”
