Jaycee Floyd took the checkered flag tonight in the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Cedar Lake Speedway ahead of Kyle Jared and Billy Northcutt. “[Jared] kept getting closer and closer so I just told myself just hit your marks and I think you should be fine”, Floyd commented at the end of the night’s action, “I got that restart where I started on the bottom and just, I knew if I beat him into turn one, I could throw a slider kind of help me out.”

William Hargreaves with Dirt Panda racing had the fast time in qualifying with a 4-lap average of 16.123 and led the first heat of the night around to take the green flag. Hargreaves dominated the field to take the win and secure the pole for the 30-lap feature event later in the evening. Kyle Jared, Zachary Loomis, Jaycee Floyd, and Billy Northcutt won the remaining heats with Neville Ulph and Stephen Spies winning their respective consolation races.

Hargreaves led the 24-car field around to take the green flag to kick off the main event. Hargreaves got a good start, but Jared to his outside stayed alongside him for the opening laps while Loomis and Floyd battled over 3rd. Trading sliders for the lead it was Hargreaves holding the position with the first 5 laps completed. A few laps later, a miscalculation from Hargreaves dropped him back to 5th behind his teammate Northcutt as Floyd overtook Jared for the lead with 20 laps to go.

Spies saw an opportunity and dove to the low line to challenge Hargreaves while Northcutt pulled away moving up into 3rd closing the gap to Jared ahead. Floyd continued to control the field going into the 2nd half of the night with Jared close behind keeping the pressure high. A late race caution came out stacking the drivers back up single file for a 1 lap shootout to the end with Floyd still leading the field. With a great launch off the restart, Jaycee Floyd pulled away quickly to take the checkered flag with Kyle Jared, Billy Northcutt, William Hargreaves, and Chase Barbara rounding out the top 5 tonight at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Billy Northcutt holds the lead in the point standings with 226 points with 3 rounds completed. William Hargreaves sits in 2nd place with 222 points. Jaycee Floyd jumped up to 3rd with 164 points with Kyle Jared and Aiden Young rounding out the top 5. The Bootleg Racing League next head to Lincoln Speedway on January 27th with all of the dirt slinging action brought to you live at 7:10PM ET only on the Virtual Grip Network!
