J R Shepherd with Different Path Motorsports took the checkered flag for the 2nd time of the season tonight in the Bootleg Racing League Super Late Model Series at Southern National Speedway ahead of Justin Morton and Michael Goodman. “This is a tough place to run… it’s just really easy to overdrive whether you’re on the bottom or on the top”, Shepherd commented after claiming his big win tonight, “Just tried to be really patient and had some things fall out way.”
Michael Goodman started in control of the 14-car field tonight and took the green flag alongside Donny Moore on the front row. Goodman had a great launch off the start and cleared ahead of Moore going into the first corner wile Austin Boelke and Kurt Smith battled side by side over 3rd place with Justin Morton and J R Shepherd directly behind them. Morton went low behind Smith and Shepherd stayed up high opting to follow his teammate, Boelke, in the battle. Contact between Smith and Boelke sent Boelke sliding high up the bank in turn three putting him in the rear of the field.
Jason Menda was making consistent forward progression maneuvering around Smith and taking 3rd away with Shepherd following him around pushing Smith back to 5th with 20 laps completed. The top 4 started separate themselves from the rest of the field and Menda had to concede the 3rd place to Shepherd shortly thereafter falling to the back of the lead battle. Shepherd got to the inside of Morton and the two drivers ran side by side for several laps before Shepherd cleared for 2nd place going into the second half of the night with Goodman still holding the lead.
Boelke was slowly climbing back up through the field, up to 7th ahead of Joe Segalla with 40 laps remaining, cautiously clearing one car after another. Shepherd closed up on Goodman’s rear bumper but couldn’t find the grip to run the low line around him as Goodman started to drive defensively taking away any opportunity for Shepherd to get to his inside. Shepherd got alongside the outside of Goodman and committed to the move pushing ahead and clearing into the lead with 26 laps to go. Morton repeated the move and was able to push Goodman back to 3rd ahead of Menda.
With the laps counting down, Boelke started pushing more aggressively showing his speed and climbed back into the top 5 as he closed in on Menda. Goodman and Menda battled side by side over 3rd place ahead of Boelke and Moore also battling side by side over going into the final 10 laps. Goodman was able to clear back into 3rd with Boelke following him through into 4th. Morton was looking to the inside of Shepherd around the final lap but couldn’t get there as J R Shepherd crossed the line taking the checkered flag tonight at Southern National with Justin Morton, Michael Goodman, Austin Boelke, and Donny Moore rounding out the top 5 finishers.
J R Shepherd and Justin Morton are now tied for the lead in the point standings each driver with 227 points. Boelke fell back to 3rd place 1 point behind the leaders. Donny Moore moved up to 4th place with 205 points and Michael Goodman moved up into the top 5 in the points with 194 points. The drivers of the Bootleg Racing League now head up to Maine on August 6th for round 7 of season 18 at Oxford Plains Speedway with all of the action broadcast live at 8:55PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

Brandyn Proudfoot with Jim Beaver eSports took his 4th checkered flag of the season tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Port Royal Speedway ahead of William Hargreaves and Hunter Hill. “I kind of just went with what I knew and instinct”, Proudfoot commented on knowing where to run on track as he slowly pushed further to the inside as the night went on.
Brandyn Proudfoot came into the night at the top of the timing and scoring boards with a fast lap at 22.790 in qualifying and taking the checkered flag in the first heat race of the night over William Hargreaves. Billy Northcutt took the second heat win for the night with Chris Davis taking the final transfer spot. Kevin Davis and J R Shepherd battled over the lead
Brandyn Proudfoot led the 16-car field to the green to the inside of Billy Northcutt as racing began for the 40-lap feature event with William Hargreaves starting in 3rd. Hargreaves made an attempt on the lead around the first lap but couldn’t clear Proudfoot slotting ahead of Northcutt in 2nd. Chris Davis was aggressively pushing forward overtaking Northcutt for 3rd place while Hargreaves and Proudfoot started to pull their battle away from the rest of the field. Northcutt was under pressure for 4th from Kevin Davis and Bobby Hayes challenging for the position 10 laps into the night.
Contact between Jason Menda and Billy Northcutt along the outside wall sent Northcutt up and over the wall in turn three ending his night early. Proudfoot and Hargreaves were battling side by side as Chris Davis got a nose into the fight, but contact was made, and Davis made hard contact with the inside wall and fell back to 8th place while Proudfoot and Hargreaves continued to battle over the lead. As the drivers passed the halfway point of the night, Proudfoot was able to break away from Hargreaves by a few car lengths while the two drivers were again separated from the rest of the field.
Hunter Hill was in 3rd with a sizable gap between himself and Bobby Hayes behind him going into the last 15 laps. Chris Davis had climbed back up into 6th place behind J R Shepherd from his incident earlier with the leaders and Proudfoot was slowly extending his lead out ahead of Hargreaves as the laps counted down. Proudfoot was able to maintain his line and stayed out of reach of Hargreaves as he took the checkered flag in the end with Hargreaves, Hunter Hill, Bobby Hayes, and Chris Davis rounding out the top 5 finishers tonight at Port Royal.
Brandyn Proudfoot maintains the lead in the point standings with 455 points. William Hargreaves moved up into 2nd place with 396 points with Billy Northcutt close behind in 3rd with 391 points. Pretty Good Racing League | Season 2 | Round 9
Premier Series | Pocono Raceway
Sim Racing Software: iRacing
Thomas George with Steel Horse Racing claimed his first checkered flag of the season tonight with the Pretty Good Racing League in the Steel Horse Live 69 at Pocono Raceway ahead of Vincent Crow and Mike Rasimas. “I take it one lap at a time, that’s just kind of how I do things.”, George shared with us as the night wrapped up and he modestly added, “I didn’t come into this race expecting to lead like this. I struggle a bit at Pocono.”
Woody Mahan led the field to the green flag at the start of the night with Thomas George running alongside him to the outside. The two drivers battled hard over the lead for several laps until George was able to pull away enough to hold the front going into lap 4. Drew Carroll caught the lead battle and overtook Mahan for 2nd place as he closed the gap to George ahead with 10 laps completed. As the laps counted down, Carroll was able to stay with George, but couldn’t find the speed to make an attempt on the lead in the early stages of the night.
Scott Eckrich and Jeff Ward battled each other as they climbed up through the field with Eckrich breaking into the top 10 first on lap 20 and was closing in on Brian Yaczik. George gave up the lead going into lap 24 as he opted to take his first stop for fuel early giving control of the field to Mahan. The shuffle in the running order sent Eckrich and Ward up to 5th and 6th respectively with both drivers staying out on track for several more laps. As the last of the field came through their pit cycles, George was able to reclaim the lead 30 laps into the night.
Going into the 2nd half, Ward was up to 6th place with Eckrich drafting with Mike Rasimas using each other to push forward as Rasimas ran in 8th. Going into lap 36, Rasimas and Eckrich had closed the gap to Ward while George was still in control of the field with a lead of over 2 seconds ahead of Carroll as the entire field had become spread out around the track. Ward cleared Cody Erdmann for 5th place and Eckrich overtook Rasimas to stay on Ward’s rear bumper. Eckrich got to the inside of Ward and quickly cleared into the top 5 pushing Ward back to 6th ahead of Rasimas.
With 30 laps remaining, Eckrich wasted no time moving forward as he cut to the inside of Christopher Dewald for 4th. Lap 41 saw the first caution of the night caused by contact between Yaczik and Erdman sending both drivers around on the racing line without causing serious damage for either. That gave the field an opportune time for the final fuel stop and closing up the large gaps that had built up throughout. George took the green flag for the field with Eckrich to his inside in 2nd place. Ward had fallen back to 12th off pit road and had a lot of ground to make up in the last 25 laps.
George cleared Eckrich off the restart and Eckrich was quick to slide up behind him ahead of Vincent Crow. Ward was aggressively pushing forward up to 6th running behind Rasimas after the first lap. George maintained the lead going into the last 15 laps ahead of Eckrich who was staying tight on his bumper waiting for George to make a mistake. Rasimas overtook Carroll for 4th place while Ward held onto 6th ahead of Isaiah Dupre. The top 10 were all running single file close enough together that if any driver made a mistake whey would likely be dropped to the back of the line before finding a space to slot into.
The top 7 drivers were still packed tightly together going into the final 10 laps. George wasn’t giving Eckrich any opportunity to make a pass attempt while Eckrich was pushing George trying to separate their battle from the rest of the group. A late race incident brought out the 2nd caution of the night with 7 laps remaining brought everyone back together for a 3-lap shootout to the finish. Goerge stayed out on track while Eckrich and Ward opted to go down pit road for fresh tires rejoining the track in 9th and 10th. There was another incident off the restart in the middle of the field and brought the night to a close with George taking the win under yellow flag conditions with Crow, Rasimas, Chris Lanini, and Eckrich rounding out the top 5 finishers across the line tonight at Pocono Raceway.
Jeff Ward leads in the point standings the 8th week in a row with 342 points. Brian Yaczik holds onto 2nd place now 33 points behind the leader. Thomas George moves up into 3rd with 294 points after tonight’s win, only 15 points behind Yaczik. Shane Parish fell back to 4th place with 285 points and Vincent Crow holds onto 5th with 276 points. Next week, the drivers of the Pretty Good Racing League head to Indianapolis for the “Do You Got an Updated Track? Be a Lot Cooler If You Did! 100” at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 2nd with all of the intense action broadcast live at 8:50PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

Mathew Thunhorst claimed his 3rd checkered flag of the season with the Bootleg Racing League Super Late Model Series at North Wilkesboro Speedway ahead of J R Shepherd and Justin Morton. “That was really intense”, Thunhorst commented about the race long battle against Shepherd adding, “You get maybe a chance maybe every 10 or 15 laps and if you don’t hit it right, you’re not going to get in there.” Thunhorst shared with us that this may be his final race of the season due to personal reasons and will have to step back from the championship battle.
Justin Morton led the field to the green flag with Joseph Snyder to his outside starting off the 100-lap event. Morton jumped out to a strong lead as J R Shepherd and Mathew Thunhorst were aggressively pushing up through the field early on moving up into 3rd and 4th respectively in the first few laps. Thunhorst, Snyder, and Shepherd went 3 wide over 2nd place with Thunhorst high and Shepherd low around Snyder. Thunhorst was able to clear around Snyder into 2nd place as Shepherd held the inside line. Snyder conceded the battle after Austin Boelke got to his inside behind Shepherd and tried to drop down to the inside line, but contact was made with Donny Moore sending him around and collecting several other drivers from behind.
Racing resumed going into lap 22 with Morton still in control of the field. Shepherd stayed to the inside of Thunhorst as the two drivers ran side by side for several laps before Thunhorst dropped back to 3rd ahead of Boelke. Stephen Spies and Kenny Kibbey had climbed up into the top 10 from their starting positions in the rear of the field. Shepherd got a nose beneath Morton going for the lead on lap 30 with Thunhorst following him around pushing Morton back to 3rd as the three drivers pulled away from the rest of the field.
Going into the 2nd half of the night, Shepherd maintained control of the lead with Thunhorst following close on his rear bumper. Morton fell off the lead battle while Kibbey and Spies moved up into the top 8 ahead of Michael Goodman and were closing on Kurt Smith ahead in 6th. Smith was in a battle with Moore over 5th place but struggled to find an opening. Goodman battled back against Spies with 40 laps remaining clearing back into 8th as Snyder caught the battle and started pressuring Spies.
With the laps counting down, Shepherd wasn’t able shake Thunhorst and Boelke had closed back in on Morton going for 3rd place with 20 laps remaining. Spies fell back to 10th while Kibbey was still running in 7th behind Moore. Shepherd was negotiating through lap traffic one at a time spread out around the track with Thunhorst taking several looks to the inside getting impatient. Thunhorst got his nose inside with 13 laps to go but Shepherd fought back from the outside. The championship caliber drivers stayed side by side as they went into the final 10 laps.
With 8 laps to go, Thunhorst cleared for the lead with contact between the two drivers as they both went for the inside line. They were able to gather their cars back up and continued to battle as Shepherd looked for an opening beneath Thunhorst. In the final laps, Thunhorst started to pull away from Shepherd by several tenths and took the checkered flag with Morton holding Boelke off for 3rd closing out the night at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Mathew Thunhorst took the lead away from Austin Boelke in the point standings with tonight’s win now with 190 points. Boelke fell back to 2nd place 1 point off the lead. Justin Morton holds third place 2 points off the lead and J R Shepherd still sits in 4th place 3 points off the lead. Donny Moore rounds out the top 5 drivers in the points with 169 points. Brandyn Proudfoot with Jim Beaver eSports took his 3rd checkered flag of the season tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at Cedar Lake Speedway ahead of Billy Northcutt and William Hargreaves. “I feel like I could’ve got by him a little cleaner, but the track definitely played a little bit different tonight than it did in past seasons for sure”, Proudfoot commented to VGN. When asked about going after the championship, he added, “I’m not really here for the championship. I’m here for the community.”
Billy Northcutt cleared out ahead of Williams Hargreaves off the green as the first heat event of the night began. Running a mid-line around the corners, Northcutt was able to hold the lead and take the first checkered flag with Hargreaves following him across the line. Brandyn Proudfoot shared the front row with Jason Menda as the second heat took to the track. Proudfoot cleared ahead of Menda but wasn’t able to pull away while Robby Robinson closed in on the lead battle going into lap 2. Menda looked to the inside several times but couldn’t find an answer for Proudfoot’s momentum on corner exit with Proudfoot taking the win.
Chris Davis and Neville Ulph started out front for the 3rd heat and Davis had a great launch as the green flag came out. Hunter Hill found himself in a battle with Bobby Hayes, and Brennen Myers for 3rd place while Ulph had a safe gap ahead of them. Davis took the checkered flag with a strong lead over the field and Hill won the battle for 3rd. Jeffrey Hardin and Hunter Hill led the C Main consolation race to the green. Hardin had a good jump, but Hill jumped out ahead into the lead coming out of turn two.
Myers got alongside Hardin and was battling over 2nd from the inside. Myers took the position and closed in on the leader and went for a low dive going into the final corner but couldn’t get a nose ahead of Hill before he took the win. Robinson and Stephen Spies were in command of the field for the B Main consolation race with the two drivers battling side by side for several laps off the start. Robinson cleared ahead of Spies on lap 3 with Hayes moving up to challenge Spies. Hayes cleared into 2nd place as Robinson crossed the line to take the checkered flag.
Northcutt opted to start the 40-lap feature race to the outside of Proudfoot and cleared Proudfoot coming out of the second corner. Davis and Hargreaves battled side by side over 3rd place close behind with Menda closing on them from 5th. Hargreaves cleared into 3rd ahead of Davis and closed up on the back of the battle for the lead between Northcutt and Proudfoot with 10 laps completed. Northcutt maintained the lead as they approached the halfway point of the night.
Hargreaves was looking to the inside of Proudfoot as Myers caught the battle with Menda close behind. Proudfoot threw a slider to take the lead away on lap 24 but contact between them sent Northcutt loose sending him back to 3rd behind Hargreaves. Spies was moving up through the field from 12th and had reach the rear of the lead pack with 10 laps remaining as he tried to take 4th place away from Myers. Spies cleared into 4th as Hargreaves was looking to the inside of Proudfoot for the lead.
Proudfoot held the lead, but Hargreaves kept the pressure up going into the final 5 laps. Spies struggled to find an opening around Northcutt for 3rd as Hargreaves and Proudfoot traded slider giving Northcutt a chance to get to the inside of Hargreaves and take away 2nd place. Northcutt dove beneath Proudfoot but couldn’t get a nose ahead as the white flag came out over the track. Hargreaves got back alongside Northcutt coming out of the final corner with Northcutt holding onto 2nd place as Proudfoot took the checkered flag tonight at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Pretty Good Racing League | Season 2 | Round 8
Premier Series | New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Sim Racing Software: iRacing
Jeff Ward with GRAAFix LC Motorsports claimed his 2nd win of the season tonight in a caution plagued night at the Circle Jerks: A Revival Motoring Podcast 150 with the Pretty Good Racing League at New Hampshire Motor Speedway ahead of Mike Rasimas and Vincent Crow. “We got destroyed last week at [Road Atlanta], had a DNF, but it helped us being able to start 2nd tonight.”, Ward claimed it was a deciding factor in tonight’s win, “That track position meant a lot and kept us out of trouble for the most part. It feels good to be in Victory Lane here.”
Norm Pelletier led the 27-car field to the green flag with Jeff Ward running to his outside. Pelletier cleared into the lead, but Ward wasted no time going after the lead off the start diving below Pelletier and taking away control of the field. The early stages of the race were chaotic with drivers throughout the field struggling to find grip on cold tires and several drivers found themselves sliding through the infield grass after losing the rear end of the car on corner entry. Eckrich was cautiously negotiating through traffic on his way to the front and was up 10 spots running in 17th place going into the 20th lap.
Pelletier held onto 2nd place as Thomas George moved up to battle Danny Gutierrez for 3rd. Unfortunately, contact between George and Gutierrez turned both cars around and collected Adam Jurski bringing out a caution on lap 36. Several drivers shuffled down pit road jumping Eckrich up to 4th place for the restart. Eckrich quickly maneuvered around Isaiah Dupre and Pelletier securing 2nd place and went to work closing the gap to Ward little by little with each lap. Ward and Eckrich ran away with the lead battle over 1 second ahead of Pelletier in 3rd with 45 laps completed.
Ward and Eckrich both came down pit road on lap 53 under caution and rejoined the track still on the front row with Ward still in control the field. Mike Rasimas was up into 4th off the restart overtaking Cody Erdmann from the outside line. Approaching the second half of the night, Rasimas was sent around after contact with Chance Manning bringing out another caution and allowing the drivers to try to stretch the fuel to the end. Ward and Eckrich both went down pit road and rejoined the field in 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Vincent Crow as the green flag came back out and racing resumed with 75 laps remaining.
A fumbled restart caused by an incident in the back half of the field brought the caution back out immediately causing a checkup that the field wasn’t expecting resulting in Eckrich being sent hard into the outside wall and falling far back in the running order and multiple laps down with serious right front damage. Racing again resumed on lap 80 and Ward was able to take the lead away from Crow with Erdmann following him into 2nd. Rasimas was back into the top 10 and consistently moving forward through traffic and Brian Yaczik was up to 6th behind Brown.
Another pit cycle under the caution on lap 103 shuffled the running order around with Ward rejoining in 3rd. Jonathan Cogswell as leading the field for the first time of the night with Pelletier in 2nd as racing resumed with 45 laps remaining. Ward showed his speed as he quickly dove beneath Pelletier into turn one off the restart and then Cogswell going into turn three taking back the race lead as they crossed the line after one lap green. Rasimas maneuvered his car up into 2nd place ahead of Erdmann while Crow and Brown battled side by side over 4th.
With 24 laps to go, Ward and Rasimas had extended the gap ahead of Erdmann in 3rd by over 1 second as the field started running more aggressively going for any positions, they could get with the laps quickly counting down. Ward was able to break away from Rasimas pulling the lead out by over 1.5 seconds going into the final 10 laps. Ward maintained his lead and took the checkered flag with Rasimas, Crow, Erdmann, and Rhyne rounding out the top 5 drivers at the line to bring the night to a close at New Hampshire.
Jeff Ward leads in the point standings the 7th week in a row with 308 points. Brian Yaczik holds onto 2nd place now 29 points behind the leader. Shane Parish sits in 3rd with 257 points, only 22 points behind Yaczik. Thomas George holds 4th place with 245 points and Vincent Crow moved up into 5th with 236 points. Next week, the drivers of the Pretty Good Racing League head over to Pennsylvania for the Steel Horse Live 69 Nice at Pocono Raceway on July 26th with all of the intense action broadcast live at 8:50PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

Mathew Thunhorst dominated the field claiming his 2nd checkered flag of Season 18 tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Super Late Model Series at Five Flags Speedway ahead of Austin Boelke and J R Shepherd. The early race incident gave Thunhorst what he referred to as an uneventful drive. “All of the guys that were probably going to compete against me got caught up in that”, he commented, “I was able to then jump on that restart there and get to the lead and I didn’t look back and at that point, you know, I was just trying run laps.”
Joe Segalla shared the front row with Austin Boelke as the green flag came out over the track starting off the 100-lap event. Segalla quickly cleared into the lead and the 18-car field went mostly single file as the drivers settled in to log off some laps. A checkup caught many drivers by surprise on lap 9 when Jeffrey Hardin got loose coming out of turn four causing a chain reaction behind him resulting in many front runners getting sent around including Justin Morton and J R Shepherd and bringing out the caution flag.
Segalla lined the field back up for the restart going into lap 15. Segalla had a great jump, but the restack gave Mathew Thunhorst an opportunity who dove below Segalla and took control of the race lead. Shepherd had climbed back through the field and was battling for 6th against Jason Menda with 30 laps completed as Thunhorst took advantage of the open track ahead of him and stretched his gap to over 1.6 seconds. Segalla found himself stuck on the outside line and was falling back to Menda forcing Shepherd to concede the battle for the moment and fall back to in line behind Menda.
Going into the 2nd half of the night, Thunhorst had extended his lead to almost 4 seconds ahead of Boelke while Sheperd continued to work through the field. Shepherd was up to 4th but was struggling to find a way around the #26 of Donny Moore. Shepherd looked to the inside several time as Moore slammed the door shut over and over until Shepherd beat Moore to the corner with 22 laps remaining and took the inside line away clearing ahead into 3rd. Thunhorst had a commanding lead and was safely out of reach of the field while negotiating through lap traffic going into the final 15 laps.
Morton and Hardin battled over 8th place, the coveted inversion spot for next week, while Thunhorst was leading by over 7 seconds ahead of Boelke. Hardin dove beneath Morton for 8th, but Morton pushed ahead going around the outside of Michael Goodman forcing Hardin to do the same. Morton was looking to the outside of Menda in 6th going into the last 3 laps and was able to clear into that position, but Hardin couldn’t complete the move this time holding onto 8th. Thunhorst came out of the final corner 7.8 seconds ahead of the rest of the field to take the checkered flag tonight as Five Flags Speedway.
Austin Boelke reclaimed the lead with 152 points in the point standings but is leading by a very narrow margin as Mathew Thunhorst closed the gap and is now 2 points behind the leader. Justin Morton dropped back from the lead to 3rd place after a disappointing night with 150 points. J R Shepherd fell back to 4th place with 148 points and Donny Moore rounds out the top 5 drivers with 135 points. The drivers of the Bootleg Racing League now head to North Carolina on July 23rd for the next round of the season at the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway with all of the action broadcast live at 8:55PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

William Hargreaves with the Dirt Panda racing team dominated the night taking the pole and leading every lap to his 2nd win of the season tonight with the Bootleg Racing League Dirt Street Stock Series at I-55 Speedway ahead of Chris Davis and J R Shepherd. “Tonight was fairly easy for me but I had open track, I didn’t have to race people.”, Hargreaves commented after tonight’s action, “As the race progressed, I knew [the high line] wasn’t going to come in. I mean, later on in the race obviously, but that middle was definitely the place to be. It was working good there.”
William Hargreaves had the quickest lap in qualifying with a 14.887 and led the first heat race to the green flag with J R Shepherd to his outside. Hargreaves cleared ahead of Shepherd quickly going into the first corner and the rest of the pack went single file. Hargreaves had the superior skill and pulled away from Shepherd who was battling Kevin Davis to hold onto 2nd place in the end. Chris Davis, or Mr. Aggressive as he’s known around the track, started in the lead of the 2nd heat alongside Bobby Hayes on the front row as the green flag came out again. Davis jumped out to a strong lead off the jump and Hayes was overtaken by Butch Baker and Malachi Smith battling over 2nd place. Davis stretched his lead out to over 1.4 seconds as he crossed the line taking the checkered flag with Smith coming in 2nd.
Billy Northcutt and Jeffrey Hardin were sharing the front row for the 3rd and final heat of the night. Northcutt had a good launch on the start and Hunter Hill and Brennen Myers went side by side over 3rd. Northcutt ran away with the lead and took the checkered flag with a 1.7 second lead over Hardin. Kevin Davis and Hunter Hill lined up on the front row of the C Main Consolation race and both drivers had good jumps on the green. Hayes clear beneath Hill taking 2nd place away and moved straight up to the leader. Hayes dove low and cleared Davis with Stephen Spies following him to the front. Spies tried to close the gap to Hayes but couldn’t get there before Hayes took the win.
The B Main Consolation race was led out by Baker and Robby Robinson. Baker cleared Robinson who had Brandyn Proudfoot pressuring from behind. Proudfoot dove beneath Robinson taking 2nd place and went for the lead without ever coming up the track. After a lap of battling, Proudfoot officially took control of the lead of the field as the white flag came out. Baker couldn’t get back up to Proudfoot to challenge and had to settle for 2nd place as Proudfoot took the win.
Hargreaves and Chris Davis shared the front row as the drivers lined up for the 40-lap feature event and led the field to the green flag. Hargreaves had a good jump and cleared ahead of Davis who was under pressure from Northcutt and Shepherd. Proudfoot, who started farther back in the midfield, aggressively went 3 wide running along the outside wall trying to make up as many positions as he could early on. Spies followed Proudfoot along the high line letting Proudfoot clear traffic for him as Hargreaves took advantage of the situation and pulled over 1.3 seconds ahead of Davis with 10 laps completed.
Spies and Proudfoot started battling over 7th place without either driver showing a clear advantage over the other. Proudfoot was able to pull away from Spies after Robinson got alongside Spies and made enough contact to force Spies off his line losing his momentum and falling back to 9th. Hargreaves was leading by almost 2 seconds as they passed the halfway point of the race with Hargreaves trying to put as much distance between himself and the field in anticipation of Proudfoot closing the gap later on. Davis, Northcutt, and Shepherd still ran single file in 2nd through 4th place.
Going into the last 10 laps, Spies and Proudfoot were again battling each other but over 6th place this time around. They closed up to Hayes in 5th and went 3 wide for a corner with Hayes holding the position ahead of Spies. With 5 laps remaining, Hargreaves continued to control the field with Davis, Shepherd, and Northcutt still battling over 2nd. Proudfoot was still running a very high line but was struggling to make up ground falling back to 8th behind Kevin Davis. A few short laps later, Hargreaves took the checkered flag with Chris Davis, Shepherd, Northcutt, and Spies rounding out the top 5 tonight at the I-55 Speedway.

Pretty Good Racing League | Season 2 | Round 7
Premier Series | Atlanta Motor Speedway
Sim Racing Software: iRacing
Scott Eckrich with GRAAFix LC Motorsports took the checkered flag tonight in the “Chuckles, We’re in Danger 200” with the Pretty Good Racing League at Atlanta Motor Speedway ahead of Shane Parish and Chance Manning. “I really don’t know why [the officials] put me up there, but I guess we’ll take it?”, Eckrich commented on the confusing shuffling of the racing order in the end. Eckrich says he was playing it safe for the first half of the night, “[I was] trying to avoid the first melee. It didn’t happen so that was cool, but yeah just trying to bide our time, keep tires under this thing and just make sure we didn’t knock ourselves out of the race before it started.”
Rich Jette started the night off on the pole to the inside of Joe Hassert as the green flag came out and the 30-car field roared across the line and into the first corner. The drivers stayed mostly side by side far back into the field for the first few laps before Greg O’Berry was able to clear into the front leading the outside line very much in a superspeedway fashion. 10 laps into the race, O’Berry held the lead from the front of the outside line while Hassert led the inside line and was running within a car length of O’Berry with both lines running similar paces.
Going into lap 30, the drivers were mostly running patiently in line as the narrow track made running 3 wide a risky move for so early in the night. O’Berry was still out front leading the outside line with Christopher Dewald on his door leading the inside line. Eckrich was running in 24th, 9 positions behind Jeff Ward, and wasn’t yet making any aggressive moves toward the front yet. Lap 43 saw the first round of drivers pulling down pit road with Eckrich coming in on lap 48 and Ward on the following lap. Many of the drivers struggled to get onto pit road without incident making contact with another car or missing the entrance altogether.
The pit cycle was completed through the field on lap 53 and Eckrich had jumped up to 6th place behind Brian Yaczik.. Adam Jurski was in control of the field ahead of Chance Manning. Lap 57 saw the first caution of the night from Don Runkle Jr making hard contact with the outside wall and collecting Ward unfortunately ending Ward’s night very early. Mike Rasimas controlled the field as the green flag came back out and racing resumed going into lap 61. The inside line had the better start which allowed Eckrich to jump further up through the pack into 2nd place with Yaczik in 3rd.
Eckrich went up to take control of the outside line and that gave Yaczik an opening to slingshot around both leaders and clear into the front of the field before he also went up in front of Eckrich as the top line started to pull away from the rest. Lap 71 saw the “big one” as the middle of the field imploded collecting roughly a third of the drivers, those being the drivers who weren’t lucky enough to find a path through the carnage as the track turned into a parking lot. Practically the entire field opted to use the opportunity to go down pit road for their second stop of the night.
Eckrich, Yaczik, and Thomas George went 3 wide over the lead off the restart with Yaczik holding the position in the end and Eckrich fell back to 5th from the shuffle. Drew Carroll moved up into 2nd ahead of George as the outside line again started to pull away from the rest of the field. With 30 laps remaining, Tommy Rhyne was in the lead ahead of Carroll. There were several failed attempts to build the inside line back up and the top 6 drivers ending with Eckrich were all running single file along the top. Going into the final stretch, Yaczik and Eckrich led the final round of pit stops with 25 laps to go.
The last thing Eckrich and Yaczik wanted to see happened in the final 18 laps as the caution flag came out once again and ruined their pit strategy to leap ahead of the field and started from the back end of the lead lap going into the final few laps. Rhyne and Paul Pepper were side by side on the front row as racing resumed with 16 laps remaining. Rhyne had a great launch with, but Carroll dove up into the gap between Rhyne and Pepper and led the high line into the front of the field. Rasimas slid up behind Carroll as a third line started to form down the center. An incident in the final laps brought the caution back and the field line back up for a 2-lap shootout.
Carroll and Rasimas shared the front row as the green flag came out for the final time. Eckrich was running behind Yaczik on the low line behind Rasimas. Carroll jumped out to an early lead being pushing by Pepper. As the drivers were shuffling around for position another large wreck collected Carroll, Yaczik, Eckrich, Pepper, and others as Shane Parish dove through the chaos and into the lead but in a shocking upset with the timing and scoring Eckrich was found to be the leader at the time the caution flag actually came out and, after the racing officials gave him his track position back, Eckrich claimed the win with Rasimas, Parish, Manning, and Rhyne rounding out the top 5 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Jeff Ward holds onto the lead in the point standings for his 6th straight week with 255 points. Brian Yaczik trails behind by only 10 points with Shane Parish 16 points behind the leader. Scott Eckrich moved up to 4th place after the night’s win and now has 238 points as Thomas George dropped back to 5th with 224 points. Next week, the drivers of the Pretty Good Racing League head up to New Hampshire for the Circle Jerks: A Revival Motoring Podcast 150 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 19th with all of the intense action broadcast live at 8:50PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!

Bootleg Racing League | Season 18 | Round 3
Super Late Model Series | Lucas Oil Raceway
Sim Racing Software: iRacing
J R Sheperd with Different Path Motorsports claimed his first win of Season 18 tonight in the Bootleg Racing League Super Late Model Series at Lucas Oil Raceway ahead of Mathew Thunhorst and Justin Morton. “This was definitely a nice chance of pace. Usually, this track is just the outside groove, and it doesn’t give you a whole lot of options but tonight the car had a little bit of freeness into it at least on throttle so that gave us more options than we normally have here.”, Shepherd commented about the racing and state of the track tonight.
Michael Goodman led the field to the green flag as the action was kicked off with Jeffrey Hardin to his outside. Goodman cleared ahead of Hardin and the front half of the field started to single file out with the first 10 laps completed. J R Shepherd and Justin Morton went side by side as Shepherd tried to take 3rd place from the outside line with Austin Boelke following close behind. Morton struggled to keep his momentum up on corner exit and was slowly dropping back little by little with each lap before conceding the position to Shepherd. Shepherd then made an aggressive dive below the leaders as Goodman got loose and was able to jump from 3rd and take control of the field ahead of Hardin. Goodman fell back far in the running order as drivers spilt around him to try to avoid contact.
Shepherd continued to lead as Justin Morton and Jeffrey Hardin fought over 2nd place. Mathew Thunhorst was up to 7th behind Stephen Spies with 30 laps completed. Morton cleared for 2nd and Thunhorst made contact with Kurt Smith almost sending both drivers around, however they both reacted incredibly quickly and straightened themselves back out to carry on with Thunhorst dropping back to 8th to regroup behind Smith. Spies was still making moves forward clearing around Austin Boelke into 4th and looking to the inside of Hardin. Thunhorst again challenged Smith and was able to complete the move as well as clear ahead of Donny Moore into 6th 45 laps into the night.
Approaching the second half of the race, Spies took 3rd place away from Hardin and went to work reeling Morton in over 2 seconds ahead of him. Thunhorst had caught the rear bumper of Boelke as Boelke as Boelke was trying to overtake Hardin from the inside. Thunhorst followed him low and cleared into 5th. Shepherd continued to stretch out the gap ahead of the field while Thunhorst was still negotiating through traffic and unable to directly challenge him for the lead. Spies had closed up on the leaders and but struggled to get around Morton as Thunhorst overtook Boelke for 4th and quickly went high above Spies and took away 3rd with only 30 laps remaining.
Shepherd still led ahead of Morton, who was feeling the pressure from a quickly approaching Thunhorst. Thunhorst closed up tight behind Morton and was starting to look around the inside but didn’t yet have the momentum to beat Morton’s pace out of the corners. Going into the final 10 laps, Thunhorst had closed up on Shepherd’s bumper but didn’t have a chance to make an attempt on the lead before a large wreck in the middle of the field brough out a late race caution end brought the action to an end with Shepherd leading the field across the line with Thunhorst, Morton, Spies, and Boelke rounding out the top 5 finishers tonight at Lucas Oil Raceway.
Justin Morton holds the lead in the point standings with 115 points as Austin Boelke fell back to 2nd only 2 points behind the leader. Mathew Thunhorst and J R Shepherd are tied for 3rd place with 110 points each and Bryan Dehn sits in 5th place with 104 points after the first 3 rounds of the season. The drivers of the Bootleg Racing League now head down to Pensacola, Florida on July 16th for the 4th round of the season at Five Flags Speedway with all of the action broadcast live at 8:55PM ET exclusively on the Virtual Grip Network!
